IPod problems..

K bros. I have just got an ipod shuffle(gen2) from a fren which he had already use. therefore this is my first time using them. I dload the itunes from apple website so that i can transfer songs. therefore when i plug into my laptop it prompt that -

 

'The ipod "ipod name(previous given by my fren)" i ssync with another itunes library. Do you want ot erase this IPod and sync with this itunes library?

An ipod can only synced with only one itunes library at a time. Erasing and syncing replaces the contents with this Ipod library.'

 

either to press 'erase and sync 'or cancel

 

There my question is that -

 

I cannot transfer the current songs from the ipod to my laptop? Issit possible to transfer?

 

How am i to change the name of the ipod?

 

and now i cant transfer any songs in as i press cancel to avoid them to delete all the songs in the mp3.

import the songs into your itunes then click and drop the songs into you ipod...

 

go to options in the itunes to change the setting of syncing..

it's not quite possible to transfer the songs from an ipod to ur pc.

But there is a software which did it.. it's known as Tansee.

U can buy or download frm web.. i tink tampines giant is selling..

That's correct. Apple says this is to curb illegal casual music copying.

After initiating a Sync. Yes, I know that you don't want to do that for fear of losing all those songs that were already inside the Shuffle.

For the less fortunate, they have no choice but to sync.

 

For the rest of us however, we have 3rd party programs to do so:

ok thanks bro. i have no choice but to sync it. everything goes well after i sync the current songs in the ipod. problems solved. thanks to red beacon. ya answer are more detailed. for the rest i appreciated it as well

You can extract all songs from you ipod without using any other software or what-so-ever.

Ya, you can achieve all the mp3 without using third party. Just open up view hidden folders, and your ipod will appear a hidden folder that contains all the mp3. Copy all mp3 into another folder of ur harddisk before doing the rest of the work.

 

A thing to note is that, all the mp3s are become coded words, it means, their names are not track names but names for the ipod to recongise, so the long job is to rename each and every file to the song name.

how do i convert my DAT files for ipod readable format. would like to load music videos onto my ipod video.

Try changing the extension from .dat to .mpg. If that resulting file can be played on Windows Media Player or any other video player, proceed to import that file into your iPod using iTunes.

 

(This isn't iPod specific, but more of how to pre-process the video for the iPod to accept.)
