Hello all, i got a summon $500 for exhaust pipe without diffuser. i tried appealing through one motoring twice but unsuccessful. both appeal status took only a short time with the second appeal being unsuccessful on the very same day i sent the appeal. anybody knows if i have better chance if i go down personally to LTA to make the appeal?

This one is a clear cut INTENTIONAL offence. Appeals are usually for offences for example: getting summoned even with valid coupons displayed.

This is my experience when writing appeal letter:

 

Hdb fine - easiest to hav appeal accepted, as long as its ur first time n sincere enuf to admit mistake

Lta fine - also easy but not as easy as hdb one. They will review n accept ur appeal if ur explanation does make sense

Tp fine - hardest to appeal. Really need to have strong valid reason to counter d argument.

Its my first time to kena LTA fine. How should i write in to appeal that will be deem reasonable? I am a new rider I hope it can be waived of as usually i also ride around that time never kena, some more never see the gantry still ongoing for erp surcharge. Plus its in the morning, the light never flash at my bike. I was tally shock when i received the letter. Sad and helpless. Anyone out there kind enough to guide or help me in writing in to appeal? I recently just settled my summon fr same offence. They didnt waived it but reduce it to $200 only. Orh i used the format from here. Change & add bit here & there.

Guess im just lucky. But one thing, they took rather some tyme to rply back. But least there was a comfirmation email rply stating whoever the IO handling the case w contact no. Did u try calling perhaps?
