Hi there guys I am riding a roadwin currently... Still running in now n cant do anything to the bike as yet... But do u guys have any valuable information to share bout the bike???

Posted

Hey stsoh, I read ur comments on the mods, but when you add the winshield, wont ur bike wobble alot when a strong wind comes blowing when u r on the xpressway? I was previously riding x9 n its comes with a windshield. When strong wind comes about, the bike starts to wobble abit(x9 alot heavier). Roadwin is so much lighter, will it cause the bike to wobble more? Where did u get ur tank pad at anyway? At chong kok? U ever tried doing anything to the muffler? The mechanic at chong kok recomended me to do some mod to the exhaust, to gain extra speed on the road( heard can go up till 130-140 after the mod,but dunno how true ) Also, did u do anything to ur idling? I have difficulty starting the bike always, even after I tuned up the idling abit.

Thanks for ur comments. Anyway, I forgot to ask u bout the handle grip. Wat r the foam grips for? I find the original ones too dull, dats y I also have the intention of changing my grips.

Btw, which Chong Kok branch u normally go to? I got my bike at the jurong east banch, so I go there to do my servicing too.

Any idea will there b any roadwin outing? I can learn more bout the bike from u ppl in this way.

Hey stsoh thanks for the info, i checked out the windshield u were talking bout at the classified. But dun tink i like to have a windshield on my bike. But ur bike look ok with it rite? Anyway thanks for providing the info.

Btw did u fix box for ur bike? I did mine yesterday at lavender street, the big arai helmet shop. It costs me 230 altogether with a back rest on the box. Its a givi box. Though the brackets r quite stable, but feel funny initially with extra weight behind.

Hey stsoh i saw the moriwaki exhaust u were talking bout the other time when i changed my engine oil today. It looked nice, but i did not hear the sound of it. Heard that it would sound like S4.

The exhaust shown to me was a 2nd hand one, they quoted me 550 for it. But the only bad thing bout the pipe is that it is not approved by LTA, therefore i am still considering bout the offer.

Btw, how long did u run in for the bike? I just finished the 500 km servicing, they changed fully syn oil for me, plus changing something, costs $30.

Btw, wat do u think of the exhaust deal?

Posted

Hey stsoh I personally find that its not necessary to change oil at only at chong kok rite? I planning to try other bike shops to c if i can get better offers for oil change elsewhere.

Is castrol R4 really that bad? For my previous bike, I using semi syn engine all the while, this is the first time i use fully syn oil, therefore i find it not bad. Quite smooth in accelerating, but kicking to neutral still got problem (Probably due to my gears still not season yet.

I also find that chong kok's price for changing engine oil is quite steep. The $5 u mean should be not inclusive of changing the oil filter rite?

For the moriwaki exhaust, it is no longer in rainbow colour, just plain silverish in colour, therefore not as nice the a brand new rainbow coloured exhaust. We only have to go for inspection after 3 years for new bike, if i change now should b still ok rite? Also before go inspection go back chong kok change back original one can already, though very troublesome.

*Sigh* But think probably not changing the exhaust, dun wana get caught by police for illegal mods.

Anyway thanks for the advices.

Soh bout the oil lobang, maybe we can use pm to discuss the details. I find it reasonable, pm me again for any details. Anyway cosider that i'm in for the deal.

Looks like I can only go to chong kok for oil changing n services. Thanks for the info, they did not tell me my warranty would b void in this way. If castrol R4 is really not that good, think i will try out ur recommendations for my next oil change. So my next oil change should be at 2000 or 1500?

About the moriwaki pipe, i dun think the colour faded away, rather i think they removed the colour manually.Since the rainbow colour is forged at high temp, i dun know how they did it, but i'm very sure that the colour of the pipe was silver, and it didn't look as if the colour has faded off. I did not ask the mec much bout the pipe after i confirmed that it was not approved by LTA.

For my exhaust pipe, the mech told me that he has remved part of the silencer from my exhaust. Basically i did not feel any difference, because i had not rode a roadwin without silencer removed( if they really did remove my silencer ). I also cant go for high speed yet, therefore i still dunno if wat they did have improved my top speed ( if they really had did something to my pipe).

:cheeky:
