Hey guys just to sure with u all a defect i found on my bike. Not sure whether u guys r affected anot.

Anyway, after riding roadwin for bout 4 months, I found that my fuel gauge is not at all accurate. When my gauge touches the red portion at the 'E' end, I pump my petrol at the kiosk but could only get 8 litres plus of petrol into my tank, when the bike is supposed to have a 16 litres tank. Haven went to do any servicing bout this, as i find that it does not affect me alot.

If you guys encounter the same problem, did u guys do anything bout it?

It's normal i guess.....

I used to ride a Kymco Zing and the fuel gauge was useless..

The indicator just points to empty after travelling just 70 clicks when full tank can cover bout 350 clicks before reserve! So i had to depend on the odometer.

I gauge by waiting for the needle to drop bottom and then switch on my reserve. But of course you can always get it fix at the shop.

jackal,

which part of east sg, changi, tampines, bedok?

still running-in your engine?

done any mod to ur bike yet?

Hey Bro...

Staying in Bedok Reservoir. Thinking of changing front & rear sprokets next month or so. Dun plan on doing any other mods though....xept maybe for Moriwaki Muffler and a steering damper like the Mito if i strike 4D. I like the bike juz the way it is. CKA spoilt it a bit by outfiting that Super four V sticker which had to be painstakingly peeled off. Great cornering stability for a naked small cc bike. Cruising comfortably at 95 - 100kph@8000rpms. Could use a little top end speed though.

Finished breaking in the engine (1000 clicks) bout two weeks ago. So far so good.... Except for the minor problems like the inaccurate fuel gauge and morning start problems which will cause a severe battery drain soon. Still.. battery life can be extended by always making sure that the lights are off during engine start and only use the main headlight when you really can't see. Other than that, the pilot light will be more than enough. Learnt that the hard way when i got my first bike many years ago....man I miss my Cagiva Mito

Frankly, a great bike for daily transportation round Sunny Sillipore.

Cheers ;p

Guys....check out the mods done to the humble roadwin on this address:

http://www.roadwin.es.kz

Check out the Roadwin R "Yamuda" & Galeria Roadwin Tuning sections. Also, those thinking of getting a brand new roadwin in the future can follow this link to break in the engine efficiently, & increasing horsepower & speed.

http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm

I tried it & now on my stock settings, my speed is around 95 kph @ 8000 rpms.

Cheers :goodluck:

Never seen any China bikes there either :)

Never noticed any Roadwins going for a complete overhaul either....except for the Daystar. Maybe the Roadwin's still young in the market?

yes, don't think they import china bikes.

their website: http://www.cka.com.sg

I think I saw a bike with chinese characters on the fuel tank, can't remember inside the shop or parked in the carpark. That's why I got that impression.

You able to "jio" more Daelim riders to the forum?

Went down to cka Kaki Bukit last week. Spoke over the phone to 'Loi' saying i wanna change my front sprokets to 15 teeth. They say ok...anyway i need to do periodic oil change. So i went down, but what a surprise (or not), when i mentioned about changing the front sproket, the mech just keep dissuading me to do it...giving reasons like... change bigger sproket - no power - must do up the exhaust also....yadayada...i mean what the hell is wrong with changing just the front sproket?! Anywayz, since i didn't have time & since they're so reluctant to do it...i just told them that i'll do it the next time around. Seesh....i have to bear riding @ 90-100km/h again....
