ddr1 ram vs ddr2 ram

hi was wondering if i m using a p4 1.5g pc, can i use a ddr 2 ram ?

 

will it helps the process faster if i use 2 512mb ddr 2??

 

currently i have a ddr1 512 n 256mb attached to my pc, how do i know both r working together or the pc is only using either of the ram?

right click my computer ---> properties ---> general

 

look at the lower right corner.. there got say how much ram..

ur CPU would be a 423pin or 478 pin.

 

The mainboard won't support DDR2.

check if ur mb supports ddr2.

if ur mb is using dual memory technology, a 2 512 ram will b recommended.

How to identify motherboard support which type of ram: SDRAM,DDR1 or DDR2

if I do not have the booklet for the motherboard. Is there a way to check inside windows?

Google your mobo's model or designation.

P4 1.5ghz i think can only use DDR1

and DDR2 wont work on a mobo supporting only ddr1
