Seriously the box with the back rest on the box is not for your pillion to lean on.

If you are considering to let your pillion lean I would suggest fabricate a proper back rest with the options to mount the box.

The piece of metal supporting the box will now withstand the Pillion's weight as encountered by your previous scooter. Look at the instructions they will tell you the maximum weight you can put in the box. Cheers.

Thanks Adriver. That is what I think, just wondering why they have the backrest options anyway. Looks like I have to get a standalone backrest as an addition..

Setting aside the backrest ... is floating rack stable? considering the load and the addition of down force due uneven roads and hitting pot holes etc...

Bro aminbp, perhaps you could wait for customize floating rack which now awaiting for the final fabrication? Im from KL, and currently waiting for the rack to complete by this week and will start my experiment/testing proceed for a week before publish it to others... This rack will be mounted to existing back bar & skru, unlike givi's...

Aminbp, just showing you the pics of the rack we r using.

Do note that at a speed of 130 n above u do feel de drag of de box. I guess its de size of de box. Have ridden it at 140 - 150 on de nshw. You'll feel the front is abit floating but i have a pillion and luggage. Dunno if its de same with 1 up. My wife has rested on de back rest all the way. So far so good but i asked her to grip of the hand rest just in case too.

Thanks Kongfu... Maybe with independent backrest it will be more stable. Read in sw-motech forum that the screw that was supplied is brittle and can break... some one suggested using high tensile screw.. maybe if want to use rack and seat at the same time have to use high tensile screw to be safe.... Thanks a lot all for the ideas ... will make my decision later once I got the bike..

Before I forgot... anybody knows whether high windscreen available in Singapore? I try to search in this forum but not really been discussed except by J@n...

If you like Ermax like I have, just ask me and I will help you for free, so Dutch shop send to you.

Highway in Malaysia is perfect. The roads on highway 4 going towards the south in Thailand Sucks. Too many pot holes and trucks are taking the right lanes.

Hi Jan,

Thanks for the offer. I've check the cost of givi windscreen from the local supplier here in Malaysia and the quoted MYR 596 (Euro 133/SGD 230), special order from Italy. Maybe I'll go for givi as Ermax is too expensive. Can you share any of the customize work that you've done? Your work looks neat... maybe can apply to my bike once I got it. Thanks in advance
