The screw are getting rusty. Anyone changed? Or where to buy non rust replacement?

I replace rusting nuts and bolts until give up liao. Best to coat a light layer of grease over the bolts every week.

Yup stainless steel bolt can get opposite lim ah boy below the multi story carpark. Located along the Shopshouse when you enter the barrier parking. They sell almost any kind of common bolts nuts you can think of.

Kum sia. Will check it out tomorrow if got time.

If you are getting the screw you need to know the sizes. Otherwise just dismantle 1 PC to show as sample. In the mean check with them if they got spacer. Yours seems to have also rusted badly. Tell them you want stainless steel. Cheers.

Alternatively can go to the row of shops behind ah boy.. There is 1 shop also specialize in selling screws/bolts/nuts too.

Slightly further though.

Unless the person knows the length and size of the screws, otherwise best is to dismantle from the original and show it to them. Cheers.

I'm surprised MS doesn't have these SS screws that their customers can change for a few $. Even if 100% markup I'm fine too. It's just screws. But to live with rusty screws everywhere just makes kimchi bikes shout cheap.

Very often, it's the little small things that matter.

hmm.. we have to understand the following 2 pts.

1. Kymco is not a Kimchi bike.

2. MS is a bike shop and not a screw shop. And to what I know, no bike shops keep stock for SS screws. Even ducati also do not use SS Screws.

Kimchi bikes

Only this 2 Brand

Daelim

http://www.dmc.co.kr/english/company/index.php?part=etc&path=daelim_scooter

Hyosung

http://eng.hisntmotors.com/

Kymco is Taiwanese aka Kwang Yang Motor Co, Ltd

http://www.kymco.com/

Then again... Kymco aint cheap either..

To be fair...

Even Jap scoot's screw also rust....

External screws are using bare minimum material. not SSU316 or even 304...

For your general info.

Hear say.

IMO if you want to blame, blame the manufacturer.

Manufacturer provide the screws that can rust.

Profits? I beg to differ.

From what I hear at the shop while buying screws:

Shop guy to another customer: stainless steel is soft, if you want strong you must go for another material. The only good about stainless steel as the name suggest is not easy to rust.

Hence I've concluded IMO from this conversation is that those material used by manufacturer maybe stronger than stainless steel hence the use although they may rust. Of course stainless steel are more expensive, so maybe to a certain point it is for profit too.

Strength over quality which is still quality except it rust ha ha.
