this is called the power of marketing and pricing...instead of just giving $50 off a helmet, they require one to exchange any old helmet..so it induces excitement amongst the users as it involves user participation..

 

this type of marketing tactic is similar to the levi's jeans offer, where pple juz exchange their old jeans to get a huge discount off the price of the jeans...it seems to work pretty well..

 

So if let's say any of u got a business in the future, u can employ this tactic..say a product costs $20..u mark up the price to $100..den u ask the buyer to exchange one of their old stuff, they get $50 off..so a buyer is very happy to get a $50 discount when in fact they paid $30 more than the cost price...TEEHEE

 

Hafiz, thats a given man.. no business man is going to sell below their cost price.. (which includes labour and cost of production) So, wadeva marketing gimmick they come up with, or wadeva price they have placed.. have already factored in % of profit they are expected to make.. (i.e. the concept of developer's profit) .. they will always make profit.. its just a matter of how much more, or how much less they want to accept..

 

Besides, by trading in the helmets, they might actually have plans to refurbish and repaint those to resell to other third parties for above the value of $50 that they are willing to trade in.. maybe even charge higher.. In a capitalist world, no one loses except the consumers.. keke

 

All that we can salvage is that, the utility we get from wearing the helmet, justifies the cost that we pay.. The satisfaction of having a new FF helmet to me is worth my $100.. kekeke..

Its ok lah bro.. people got plans.. but i think they have quite a fair share of rider groups coming in to their wash.. love the ducati's and the busa's.. Hope they made good money for the charity!!
