oh @cassanova, i have only gone to CDC on weekdays so far.

yes last yr was the silver FZ6, now they changed to black XJ6. Engine sounds different, more responsive, can time the blowing more precisely at bumpy course.

What kind of problem? My bike doesnt have a kick start as well. So far no issue. 8 years bike.

 

8 years? this bike came out around 2-3years ago if I am not wrong, I have to engage gear 1, maintain half clutch, push the bike and e-start it, engine takes around 2-3mins to warm up in order for it to have the optimal rpm if not it will keep dying, it does not have to be in the morning, it happens even after work. Push start the bike happens a few times in a month. Though I only had the bike for only about 2-3months.

I do not teach, they call me an AV tech over there, I always cover my bike with a canvas. No point looking for my bike cos it is nothing worth looking at, too common to be of a subject of curious eyes.

If can't e-start i think should be your stator coil damage? Have you checked your batt voltage? Your engine dying could be your idle speed too low. Just my 2 cents.

thank you for your reply, changed battery before and have the mechanic do a test on the spot with me looking and having him explain everything to me, the idle speed is something i have to play with every single time i start my bike after a few hours of rest just to warm it up, after the warm up, the idle rpm will increase above 2.5k by which i have to decrease again to have it at the optimal rpm, the e-start is pretty rare for me but happens a few times in a month, could you explain more where the stator coil might be located etc? Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience.

Sounds like a very complicated problem. haha, a friend of mine had this issue of not able to e-start and only kick start. The engine will crank but unable to turn over. Only when kick start then engine will start. The mech changed his stator coil and it fixed the problem. Not sure of any other possible solutions to your problem. Guess you have to bring to a reliable mech and check.

Thank you for your help again, I have search online and I found out I am not the only owner of fz16 to have this problem, they may explain why they had to come out with 3 generation of fz16 with the kick start implemented in 2nd gen and 3rd gen, I heard the 1st gen had battery problem as well which they improved in 2nd gen and 3rd gen (if I am not wrong), I planning to change my bike once Honda CB150X comes out, 6 gear and BMW style adventure bike, still no news of it's launch in Singapore though, hopes it gets released soon.

i'm in arts too, what do you intend to major in?

 

Geography. Planned to major in it, and scored the best in it my first sem too.

Can't get my timetable finalized with 2 days till sch starts. Urgh.

 

Anyway I just checked my payment history for Class 2A:

So yeh. Plus minus $100 coz I repeated one lesson, and booked 3 RC. Passed on first attempt.

Confession: I damaged the barrier to SDE carpark once coz my old bike was too fat, and ended up bending the barrier coz I hit it.
