let me rephrase wat scooterer meant... although we advertised the board here, it doesnt mean that we are open to anyone..only for nus ppl who are gonna be members in our club...so strictly speaking..ash shouldn't be inside since he already graduated...

y we need to do this, alot of club matters would be discussed inside...and since it's our forum, we can control easily..sbf afterall is not ours, mod can shut us down anytime for a valid reason rite ;)

Sbf thread would still be used, for newbies to come here to talk to nus ppl...we would still talk c*** here too...just that official matters would all be posted on nus forum

From the ice cream man bike aka my little black lamb RX100..to All Blacks Bandit 400, to the legendary 1285 bandit;)

hi,

here's what I think we should do

1. Set up a website. It doesn't have to ahve its own unique domain name yet. We can use a free web host.

2. In it include a write up about the club, initial membership, and some sort of leadership hierarchy. + contact information

3. Put up photos of our bikes. Or photos of our members. The more photos the better lah I think. People like viewing photos. In fact, we should organise a photo taking session for eveyrone in this thread. Put time put place, show up at NUS with our bikes and take several good photos.

4. Put a link to this msg board up, as well as the other one

5. Put links to useful bike sites up

6. Have a database of NUS riders up - like name, fac, year, contact info (email. MSN. HP etc), technical ability (what they can do - general maintenance to complete DIY overhaul), and type of bike they ride

7. Have a sign up form online.

I think the focus should be on local content - photos, and the contact list. So people know who to talk to for whatever. Otherwise, it'll be like any other bike site on the web.

Put the web address on a small flyer. Leave a copy on each bike you see parked at NUS :) We can even put up posters at car parks.

If you think about it, we don't really need the sch's approval to go ahead. And if we have soemthing to show them (like a basic structure in place), they may approve it quicker.

At the end of the day, you gotta ask yourself what's the purpose of the club? For ECA points or to bring people together? I personally dont care for ECA points, we currently don't need NUS funding, and we can definitely start to work on the latter without NUS's official approval!

What do you guys think?

Does anyone know web design? Any volunteers? I'd love to help, but my web design buay sui.

Just my 2cents lah

heh yeah i DIYed it myself. you should see Ah Foo's (year 3 FASS) dragstar. He's more DIY siao than I am.

Anyway HONG GAN today...someone stole my HJC flip-up helmet at Ginza Plaza. THe thief cut the strap I think. It's 2 years old and quite badly scratched....but it's still structucally in good condition. And it cost me $200 back then ... sigh...

why why why why.

Ultimax, you have been approved.

Generally speaking, this is the guide for where to place your helmets.

Open face (can attach to outside of bike using bike hook, using the STEEL RINGS, never the strap).

Lok Kok Full face (inside box).

Branded full face (OGK, Arai, shoei etc.) - take with you.

This is for all areas in Singapore- Malaysia, just take your helmet with you.
