hi guys...saeed here again...just wanna update u guys on e some changes we made to e rules and regulations...

Previously we did mention pillion would not be allowed during Biker's Challenge. However upon further discussion we feel it would add vibrancy to e event if there's a pillion to assist(and take pics!) along the way.

however each team will still be made up of 4 bikes...with a registration fee of 50 bucks..

Another change worth taking note of is that u guys can ask frens of urs not from uni to join the Challenge too! As long as at least 1 member from each team has a uni kiddo in it... the team is legitimate.. This is to allow fellow alumni members to join in the fun and also bikers who are just looking for something fun to do to lighten up the weekend..

i hope with these changes, Bikers' Challenge will be a more vibrant and fun event. See u guys cum 7th Feb!

Hi NUS Riders,

 

I had a meet up with Saeed from NTU Riders over the weekend and he gave me an excellent overview of the NTU Bikers Challenge. Here are some of the important points.

 

This is not a race, but a challenge

 

Many of you might think that this is a race and that it will be dangerous because of safety issues like speeding. This is more of a CHALLENGE, rather than a RACE, as the scores will be based on how fast the team do the TASK and NOT complete the race. For eg, teams will be judged on how fast they can fix a chain on a bike. Therefore, how fast a team completes the race is insignificant. Furthermore, NTU Riders will deploy marshalls along the way to ensure there is no speeding.

 

Stations are bike related, but our bikes are not required

 

The tasks at the stations are bike related eg, fixing a spark plug but things like plank and pylon are unfortunately, NOT included. Therefore, you do not have to worry about using your bike for the tasks.

 

Registration fees and goodie bags

 

The registration is $50 per team. I hope we can form at least 3 teams. Each team comprises of 4 bikes and pillions are allowed. As for the team if there are 4 of you who feel that you want to enter as a team, please inform me. If not, I will come out with the lineup after I compiled the list of participants latest by 29th Jan 09. The goodie bags are worth $20, with stuffs coming from KFC, Shell, etc etc..

 

I hope that this post paints you a clearer picture of the NTU Challenge and I hope you can join this event by either, filling in your names in the post that Ash created or PM Ash/Wadi directly.

 

Last but not least, please keep 29th Jan 2009, Thursday,6pm, free as there will be an Annual General Meeting to update all NUS Riders on the upcoming activites and trips for this semester. Venue will be updated once I book the place.
