Am I the only one who thinks Monsters should still come with low mounts and box-swingarms? Leave the highmounts and singleside swingarms to the superbike engined Monsters~! :weep:

I don't think the Z1000 look fits the Monster. i believe less is more, beauty in simplicity!

Wanna do highmounts, gotta do it the Tamburini way! :thumb:

heyhey.. i juz happened to read abt the article on ducati.. on hw ducati became famous.. its really interesting.. mayb some of u noe abt it oleady...

i noe partial.. but not in full.. nw its more detailed to me abt wat happen

to CRC n ducati.. we gotta thank claudio castiglioni and massimo tamburini

for the ducati man...

The owners were about to shut it down when Castiglioni asked to buy the name,

they replied:"You want-a Ducati? You take-a Ducati an' go!" Tamburini then set

about developing bikes like the then unique looking Ducati Paso, until early 90s.

when he created a stunner:the 916. TWO's Grant Leonard was at the launch."

I've never been at a launch where all the journos were so gobsmacked by a bike,"

he recalls."There was a feeling it might be a big styling job and underneath it

only an 888. It took about 100 yards of pitlane to realise it wasn't, and after a

dozen laps I came in truly astonished. It was so together, so capable; the harder

you pushed the better it felt. And it bristled with new ideas - all patent pending,

clever and trick, and moving the game forward.

The 916 was produced in time for the 1994 World Superbike Championship, and

it dominated the series. But just a couple of years later Castiglioni sold Ducati

for a huge profit and turned his attentions to MV Agusta, a name he'd bought

a few years earlier. At the 1997 Milan Show.

Tamburini actually was from Bimota way in 1985.. the Bimota founder...

really interesting..

Yes, Ducati was then sold to an American company, who is responsible for the redesigned superbikes (999), supersport (900SS, then 1000DS), Multistrada, and Sport Tourers (ST2).

They sorted out the sales and quality mess, so bikes after 1999 are of much better quality.

Now rumour is that the american company is selling Ducati again. :faint:

hmm..lets hope they din fall into the wrong hands...

after so much effort had been made to ducati....

after all.. it started wz Castiglioni... lets hope MV n Cagiva can be

totally ressurected after the fund support from proton..

for those who still feel cagiva is a copycat ver of ducati... i believe

dis is a gd explaination for understanding.. haha...

in fact.. the article oso stated dat the cagiva bikes target diff crowds...

so its still uniq.. haha.. :lovestruck:
