The muzzy fan DOES NOT improve the 'durabilty' nor performance of the radiator. It is purely a cosmetic mod only. Save the few ounces of plastic you'll save over the stock plastic fan unit.

I would like to share some of the experience I have had using this aluminium fan. Some of these experiences are good, but most are bad. It is a quality part; shiny and aluminium but for $100+, you definately can channel your money where it makes a difference.

Which is why I've decided to reply to this post, not because I want to make a name for myself, nor because I am feeling down enough to start poking fun at anyone else, but because I feel a need to contribute to the small but active 10R community locally. Oh and i'll be doing so with comments so please bear with my antics. Here goes....

I have had this fan installed and used daily for a duration of 2 years 6 months. (

I installed the Muzzy Fan 6 mths after purchasing my 10R in May 2004 and have seen it been installed on an 04 ZX-10R radiator, an 05 ZX-636 radiator and an 06 ZX-10R radiator (currently retro fitted on my 04 10R) ALL with NO NOTICABLE drop in water temperature. (

Any information is acceptable in a free speaking internet. Afterall, we're all intelligent thinking individuals capable of making our own judgement and choices. But I personally believe that no information is as dangerous as misinformation. When unsubstential information pertaining to increased DURABILITY (Laugh Out Lough) or PERFORMANCE is provided based very loosely on the simple fact that it has and still is being utilized by an individual, it serves to confuse or at least lead an individual into trusting that one single piece of information blindly.

Blind trust is what most people know not to do but always inevitably end up doing. It takes away our authority as thinking individuals and relegates us to people who just 'follow the flock'.

ZX10A "Oei! U saw the post on SGbikes.com? angtaonioshabunto says its good, it must be good too! Eh he bets his life on the radiator fan claiming it increases performance ok?"

ZX10B "Wah lau... so hardcore huh? MUST BE GOOD LA! LET'S ALL BUY!!!"

LOL... Like I've said before the stock fan motor spinning at the same rate will cool the same even with a lighter AND/OR smaller fan blade. Think people think.. You know it makes sense. :)

Let look at this in another way. We have 2 bikes with identical engines. 1 weighs 170kg and the other weighs 180kg. Which 1 do you think will be faster?

The 170kg or the 180kg? With less weight, there is less resultant force thus decreases the inertia. This put less stress on the motor which will increase the motor output. Like what Count has said, the drop in temperature is unoticable.

Hi,

Any installed hazard lights on their '04 or '05 ZX10Rs?

Is it possible?

The Muzzy fan is lighter, drawing out of heat is somewhat faster and thus cooling down sooner. As for coolen I recommend Engine Ice. I use it on my 12R. Works well. Get a fan switch if you have frequent traffice riding. Before approaching heavy jams switch it on already.

Hi,

Where can I get the Muzzy fan for my 10R?

Thanks!

Yeah i was at the track the whole day, noticed slight traces of oil on both sides of my fairings at the end.

I'll monitor the situation, valve clearancing also coming up, but power-wise the bike is fine, needs work on the handling and brakes.

Let see handling and brakes . . . .

You already have your damper, suspensions and master cylinder. The next upgrade would be those rims.

Lighter rims will improve your handling and braking tenfold. BST carbon rims are nice . . .hehehe

More like my forks will need to be rebuilt, and my brake discs might be warped. Brake system will probably need checking as well.

Oh yeah btw, anyone interested in 2nd hand Puig no-cut frame sliders? One set for '04 and one set for '06 available. Brand new from Regina these cost around $220, willing to sell off for $100. '04 set used since Nov last year, '06 set used since Feb this year. Both never been down obviously.

These rims are lighter and are recommended over forged magnesium rims for use on the street. If you are going to spend most of your time on track, then go for the magnesium ones.
