yea, it comes with 2 side boxes. i've read reviews before and the boxes offer better storage space as compared to the STX or the BMW ...(can't remember which model). quite a few reviews in bike mags and internet. when it comes to power, the fjr is unparalleled in its class!

Anyone has changed(by the bike shop) thier FJR tires before?

Which shop and which brand you changed?

Did they lube the drive splines for your FJR?

FJR Spline Lubrication:

http://www.fjrtech.com/images/chassis/splines/no_lube_splines.jpg

It's hard to believe Yamaha has left out the importance of lubing the drive splines with EVERY tire change!

Failure to do this religiously can result in eventual drive-spline failure.... probably when you are on a 2 week tour,

in the middle of nowhere. More:........

Comics...

The 2005 model is not ready until very late 2004 or 2005. The specificaitons are available becausein the USA they have a pre-order program that starts one year ahead..... So, this year (2004) order, next year (2005) get...

The color scheme of Galaxy blue available only in 2005 USA ONLY applies in USA. Galaxy blue FJR is available in Europe in 2004/2003.

sorryn if i ask too much many question:confused: 'cause ^$22,000 is not a small sum to me:help: do not want to spent the $ then have regrets:sweat:

i believe the 03 model has signal lights that stick out but the 04 model has flushed signal lights... like more aerodynamic. 2004 model currently in cerulean silver. correct?

22.8k looks a gd price for a 04 model leh. few months back that was the price for 03 model when the shop was clearing stock!

several ways.

1) You can add a bracket on the right upper fairing. The space is just nice for the ERP. Saw one FJR doing so.. but i think not so stable as bracket is attached to the plastic fairing.

2) SengKwang Bracket. I am using this to put the ERP on the left handlebar. Minus point= can't see the neutral light. Got to twist the bracket a little down in order to have a full of the dashboard.

3) Backseat? which is illegal to do so..

Do rem to check whether it a ABS version.

Honestly speaking, both are not so practical if the bike is to use in sg travelling only. Fjr and blackbird are both heavy bike, long wheel-base, making parking in common carpark, lots etc more troublesome. Nevertheless, I think most people buy these bike because of their interest and passion.

FJR- the basic maintance are quite similar to S4 with the additional of a drive shaft. As i hab not ride her long enuff, i couldn't tell you when it valve clearance interval etc. Apart of her weight, wind shield is still not high enuff for me. Analog Meter in Miles reading also need some time to get use to it.

If you looking into x11, do u ever consider Frazer1? I personally think it a good bike for touring too. Fit in a box, a higher windshield and a scotholier, it is as wonderful. Moreover you can find FZ1 with accessories in bike shops now..
