Hi dear FJRians, I'm planning to get a FJR pretty soon (and hopefully become a member of ur outings) and have some doubts to clarify. Hope you experienced chaps would be able to advise.

I checked with this shop and the guy said they charged 3% interest, which I understand is a gd offer considering most shops charge 4 to 5% for new bikes. Are there more shops offering this rate or better/more attractive packages for a FJR?

2ndly, is it a better deal to get from such a shop or directly from Yamaha supplier (Hong Leong Corp), considering I'm not paying full cash up front but planning to trade in my old bike (value abt $3K now) and top up maybe $2K cash.

Kindly advise. Cheers.

bro frankly 3% interest is good .. but few thing do have to consider like how much is the real pice of the bike on the road.(should be around 27 to 28k).

then and what kind of freebies that they are giving..

which bike shop is offering u this?

other things to consider is how many years is yr installment?

frankly 5k to take out a fjr, monthly payment will be on the high side..

just my 2cent opinion

agreed with deanz4. anyway 3% of interest rate is very very attractive, but still need to take a look at what is the final price you paid at.

& FYI, Hong Leong don't sell directly to end user even u pay full cash.

Thanks deanz4 & mutant_sheep.

The value of FJR seems to have dropped significantly. Excluding COE, the price he quoted was abt 22.5 to 23.5K. So, with COE at abt 1.1K these days, the total is likely to come to ard 24.5K. He did not mention any freebies as I did not ask either. The instalment plan he offered was for 5 yrs.

What kind of freebies is it the norm to receive for the purchase of a big bike like the FJR? Also, what is the normal road tax & insurance amt that is chargeable for the FJR?

The shop I approached is at the Eunos industrial area.

What do you think?

Fuzz bro,

I bot my FJR 2 mths ago. Paid 3K deposit, monthly installment $490 for 5 years.

Interest is 4%.

Road tax $250 for 6 months.

Paid 1.6K for my 1st party insurance from AXA. I'm 30 dis year.

I guess u got a good deal there for 3% interest.

No regrets so far although every month my pocket burn 1 very bigggg hole.

Truly is a nice and powerful bike. Especially when u ride at 2nd link, multiple orgasms. hehehehehe

Thanks for the info, bro. Helps me plan my finance in advance. I'm 28, so I presume my insurance rate should be pretty close to yours. Looks like every year, one chunk from end-of-yr bonus must set aside for insurance & road tax. I'm planning to take the bike in mid-Nov. See you guys on the road sometime :thumb:

hmmm, deanz4, I did ask him that time for OTR price, but he said that would depend on when I want to take out the bike, coz it would vary due to eg.COE price for that mth, etc. I told him end-Nov, so he said that one depends on Nov COE price. If I wanted to take out within a fortnight, then he could give me a more accurate price. The shop name is Ever_bright at eunos ind park.

Can the IU unit from my old bike be transferred to my new bike? Coz its pretty new, less than a yr since I changed it. Thanks for the tips on the freebies. I'll ask him abt it when I'm ready to take out the bike.
