i ride a 05 model,

 

And the basically it was a initally soft clanking thought it was a idling problem and than 1 day it began to clank really hard, and while on the road the timing chain snapped, whole bike jammed and nearly thru me out, but lucky was turning into a small lane, so i was going alittle slow. (Timing chaing broke into pieces and slam dunked into my valves damaging all of them, had to change the block.

 

Main culprit is riding style, i used to ride a scram at the side always snapping the throttle, nowadays i watch what i do...no such sounds since than and hear if there is any clanking or ticking noises.

 

so hopefully your problem is nothing to do with the timing chain, and do as our brother has advised, sometimes it's best u get it looked at

 

can also recommend AH Kiong From HKL if that's too far...

Would love to but will be away in Hatyai. Hope it goes smoothly for your wedding and congratulations. Had a Hayabusa convoy on my wedding too 9 years ago. So i know what's your feeling like. :cheers:

It's through friends over the forums there. The thing is over there, they have many distributors. So we are able to pick and choose the many options of pricing. If I will to bring in 1 pair of titanium, with shipping and it cost about $1200, don't you think it's more worthwhile comparing to buy it from local for more than $1400? :cool:

All in. Only problem is obtaining the letter for us to go inspection to legalised it. But I really don't see the point to make purchase with shops so as to make it legalised, as they have the letter from LTA. Because of that, they are making a huge amount from there.

That's what I felt too. As it is, so many legalized exhausts in the market. Don't think TPs will be bothered to stop anyone. Unless it's a LTA operation. But then again I don't ride my bike that frequent locally.

not from moto diam lah....I juz looking for ST 1300, FJR 1300 and diversion 900 only. all touring bike..

bro you ordered from where? and how much was the damage? i went down to some shop around the tekka area (forgot the name, but they moving to beside regina), and they quote me 1.2k-1.3k for the steel one, and 1.4k-1.5k for the cf one. same eh?

 

yup.think its the same.mine is a cf one.
