Bought her last year with intentions to customize with Vicious crew, never came round to it owing to maintaining 5 bikes.

Intend to down-size to 1 or 2 bikes this year. Tourer and dirt bikes are spoken for, left with this reliable and simple machine.

Brief description:

i. 400 cc Inline 4, air cooled, 2 litres engine oil. old skool Keihin CARBs!

ii. new Pirelli angels sport/touring tyres (worn about 300 km).

iii. new Puig street black wind screen (with spare clear touring screen if I can find it).

iv. Rental bar (anodized silver).

v. Top end inspected, carb serviced and seals changed.

vi. Sumitomo brakes, as specced on 99-02 R1s. Feel and stop better than my Brembo specced bikes believe it or not....

vii. genuine mileage.

viii. aftermarket engine crashbars.

ix. everything else is OEM stock.

 

Beauty is as reliable as a steam locomotive. Engine is strong and will rev sweetly but I tend to shift at 5-6000 rpm. No fuel pumps, gravity fed with 18 litre steel fuel tank. No radiators. No coolants. No extra plumbing/tubes/hoses. No funky vtec and electronic management doohicky. No LED. Brakes are really sharp, only bike I haven't felt need to upgrade to steel hoses. Corners like its on rails. Seat and pegs are classic JDM sit and beg proportions. Only other people I've seen riding these are 'uncles'. And you know uncles know best.

Unless you're eye-balling that 100,000+ km spec 2/3 with countless owners and hideous 'side-fairing' with renewed COE for $5.5-6k.... in that case, the Honda's a 'good deal'!
