mine i did a simple 1......i not sure if my method was correct....

(1)used rough sandpaper to sand out the original color, after making sure all is off,

(2)used fine sandpaper to smoothen the surface out......

(3)after that used a glossy black spray and sprayed 1 layer and used the sandpaper to smoothen out again and did another layer, after very smooth...let it dry for 30mins or more(best if under sun)

(4)after that applied the spray type laquer, ard 2-3layers.....and let dry for half a day under the sun....thats what i did.....the quality ok also...the paint nv peel out ....

*if ur doing lighter colors like light green, grey,or purple...best to spray a base layer like white.....

Hope it helps....

heheheh no probs.....its sand paper after the spray...cus when u spray u can see like uneven blots .....so fine sand paper makes all the surfaces even again, and continue with the layers....for this when sanding ,do it gently and dun apply too much pressure....

if you are using airbrush..

after sanding and smoothen the helmet, you may wish to spray a lay of white/grey primer to check for small holes, cracks or uneven surfaces..

then fill in with putty, then spray primer again.. repeat sanding and primer coat until surface is smooth..

then mist coat 3 layers of colours.. let dry for 30mins btw coats..

after which, spray thick coats evenly for 2 coats.. let dry 1 day btw coats..

then laquer for 2-3 layers, let dry 1 day btw coats..

let paint sit and cure for 2 weeks before using..

*use white primer for light colours, grey for dark colours..

aboved are what i do for my own helmet and bike models.. i hope it helps..
