Hi guys, I just got my class 2 and seriously considering the 2012 z1000. was quoted 27k otr for it. before i conclude anything, would like to get some inputs from the bros/sis here. e.g price reasonable?, fuel consumption, servicing/repair/maintenance costs compared to the rest jap bikes, riding comfort, some technical flaws/ manufaturers defect etc etc...greatly appreciate ur inputs cause if all goes well, may wanna book it by this coming monday

$27K OTR?!?! That is insanely cheap!!! Fuel consumption for Z1000 has always been on the high side. I've asked the bros here before.

was reading through page 84 of this thread and couldn't help but notice bro jtjagan stating, 'The Z1000 on the other hand was screaming bloody murder approaching 180.' during his trip to Desaru.

Hmm... didn't expect the z1000 was incapable of 180, being a 1000cc.

Any of the bros care to share their experience with such speeds?

FC on the Z1000 is pretty bad. I cannot believe that my Streetfighter S can go 260KM (if I don't ride like a mad man) before reserve kicks in. I thought the sensor was faulty.

Better ask the people here who are more familiar with the recent Z1000 pricing first

 

I didn't buy the SFS brand new. I waited for a good used one. BTW there's an 848 version out now. More affordable. But even better if you can wait for a good used one Another alternative is the Triumph Speed Triple R (full Ohlins and Brembo goodies)

tested 255 on meter before. Anything above 200 is a pain. Haha.. Last price check was 27k OTR. My insurance for 1st party is 750 bucks if I rem correctly.

The highest I got quoted was 28k for the 2010 snakeskin edition.

Ya man, plus twisting left n right. Will only encounter this if I go beyond 210. Anything btw 150 to 200 is nice. Does the SF behaves the same?
