true.. he maybe in the market for more than 20years...

but i ask u...he has the knowledge but does he have the proper knowhow? teck tai i noe very famous but the reason why i did not go there is because i feel more safe at bike lab coz i can see every move done to my shocks i donno if i can do the same for teck tai... + bike lab oso never so called show off their certs coz i believe that they want customers to go back bcoz of their workmanship and not bcoz of their certs to ease off their minds... personnally i will give them 8/10.. i minus off 2 pts coz of their waiting time.. but waiting is not a waste of time...

p.s i do not work for them...or have anything to do with them but only as a customer basis... do not misunderstand that i m flaming u pls... i am not..just tt i have been there done my shock there.. and till now a happy customer... thats all...

Well,Rebuilting shocks besides proper knowhow, experance do counts too.

He wouldnt be famous if he cant do a proper job.

I did let him rebuilted my front and rear with Rachtech goldvalves a few years back.A job well done, costing me a grand in total.

Like I said, bikelab is a uprising and promising shocks rebuilting shop.Worth a try.

It is gd news for us consumers.

Haha, think only motorworld is trying hard to impress pple of their certs.

Is your rear shock one side leaking, there is a guy selling 1 pc of suspension on yahoo auction and another selling a pair on classified ads.

Hi lwd80,

I just change my rear shock from LAB. Bought for $%0 with labour charge.

Mine is those normal rear shock which is similar to those in CB250 but bigger size ones.

IMHO, those normal rear shock are good enough for CB400 but if wanna compare with SHOWA rear shock than will definately be lots of difference. Using those normal shock when riding over hump at some speed doesn't give me those knock sound or too soft feeling. If you have tried those hump in NTU, you will know lah!

FYI, Was informed by a mechanic that those LAB fancy rear shock or pirated showa lookalike rear shock are only suitable for those honda wave or RXZ but no no for S4 due to S4 are heavy at the rear and cost a few hundred dollars. Even someone at LAB claim that "HIS" fancy shock are not suitable for S4 and recommended normal shock to me (Lucky to have this friend). Dun ask me who is that hor.........

If you have Vitamin 'M', go for new rear shock as my malay neighbour change it to those VTEC shock for his VersionS which cost quite a lot. Do remember to fixed those high quality shock protection for your bike or else you will regret hor.

If you are not into performance or something decent and no nightmare for you and your S4, the normal shock is good enough. You can check with those guys who has change it and i saw quite a number of S4 guys buying it including me lah!

But a S4 with normal shocks looks like S*** and even more ah peh.

But if ur rear sus stems are not damaged is good for rebuilt if it is damaged no amount of rebuilt will solve the problems as oil will be always leaking.

Just get those normal shocks and keep ur old shocks just in case future owners need it....

Hmmm.....how S*** also S4 mah! Some more prevent theft leh

lwd80,

ya forget to mention that it will look a bit Ah pek lor.

If looks is not a main concern than go for normal shock lor, if you have more $$$, go get a new one lor.

Just my 0.000002 cent worth,

Rebuilt doesn't mean 100% good hor, read in forum that some rebuilt not more than a year also problem and this happen to a friend of mine so it is a risk of spending a few hundred buck lor.

Guess u guys bring this up to Bikelab's duo.

No point pointing fingers here and there......

Many reasons why the seals can get busted again.

And will continue to get busted if not remedied.

Most commonly will be the shaft is scratched by flying debris or something.

This will cause uneveness on the shaft which in turn will puncture the seal and thus causing leaks.

Secondly, the shaft could have been bent due to a fall or accident.

To the naked eye, it may seem straight. Get proper tools to measure the fault. U might be surprised.

Thirdly, the use of chemicals to wash the bike ie industrial degreasers could deterioate the seals.

Cheers!
