Universal Motors is the agent for Royal Enfield bikes. I hope they bring in this bike.

I am riding a Royal Enfield Chrome 500....looking at this engine of the Continental, I think it is not too much of a difference with the Chrome. If that is the case, then power is not the reason that you want to get this bike. I do get a lot of attention with the classic look. Of course there are also other bikes out there with a similar look, e.g. Triumph, Kawasaki etc, but the price of the Royal Enfield is really value for money. So far, I am extremely happy with my bike, as I will usually ride it for dinner and back only. If you are looking for real speed and power, then this is not the bike for you.

Used to see royal enfield otr in New Delhi. Think these bikes are manufactured in India as well hence the lower price

Lower price??? You sure the prices are low? :p

phif didn't say low price... said 'lower'. As in, lower than a 'real' Continental bike. ;)

Seriously, though, RE was a British company, except they licensed their bikes to Enfield in India (based in Madras), and then the British company went bust and Enfield India took over the RE name.

So now, what RE makes is bikes in a fashion similar to old British bikes, but without the same costs involved (from manufacturing in India). Hence, lower price.
