DRZSM400 rear shock recommendation

Hey guys, merry Christmas to all.

 

Anyone knows what brand of rear shock is recommended for drz? Mine is still stock and I think it's time for a change. Any suggestions would do. Not a racing guy but if possible i do want something durable. Thanks guys.

Currently Ohlins is the most popular aftermarket rear shock for the DRZ. The trouble is.. its really expensive stuff and it really is not that great when compared to the stock shock... the stock shock has the same adjustment features as the Ohlins.

 

I race the DRZ and frankly.. I find the bike handles much better with Showa than the Ohlins.

 

The stock Showa rear shock is the best for the DRZ in my humble opinion.. and it can be totally rebuilt to be like new again.
