mostly mototiams in westside are old apek shops that are frequented by uncles and those who ride old bikes. thats what i see. i don know but they probably provide better service than those well known areas. one example is lee huat motor i think. at bukit panjang. its a like a 2 storey rundown bungalow. he sells new bikes like spark 135..new cbx 150..gilera and few other kups. he also have 2nd hand bikes which are realli relli old.

just my 2 cents.

yeah i love that shop, frequented the shop back when i was on a phantom. just down the road from my place.

the price of the shop is average: you can confirm get similar items cheaper at places such as LAB and HKL, but neither is it expensive. but why i frequent the shop is coz they dont chop you. drop in and take a look around, you will see all the uncles and apeks on their 2b bikes smoking while waiting for their bikes to be done. these are people who only want the cheap things on their bikes, without any 'extras', and if they frequent this shop, then its coz the shop doesn have any chopper, else wont have so many uncles and apeks around.

no matter wat item you want, be it tyres or chain or helmet or rain coat or watever, they will always offer you the cheapest model/brand they carry, and then mention that they also carry more expensive models/brand. you ask for tyre, they will first quote you korean brand. you ask for chain, they offer you thailand brand, and then mention they carry jap brand but more expensive. you ask for helmet, they show you the helmet with peak and no visor, then ask whether you want visor and sticker. you get treated just like the apek: cheapest item offered first, and no pushing to buy the more expensive types.

highly recommended, provided you're not on anything bigger than a super4 (plenty of super4 owned by old-timers there too), and provided you dont ask for anything more complex than regular servicing. i cannot vouch for any specialised tuning work, and if you ride a big bike like my cbr6 into the shop, they'll look at it like an elephant just strolled into the shop.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

in the west side, i would advise going to asphoon! no doubts! asphoon is a established bike shop. The outlet is at toh guan. Anyway if u guys notice, it really damn easy to notice that quite alot of bikes got asp sticker on the IU unit, or on the bike fearing. This show how popular ASP is and how good they are. ASP is mainly for selling bike but as for reparing, can consider not bad as the mechs are damn friendly!

as said by mechwira, their services and goods they carry are avg pricing like other shops.but they are not aggressive or persistent like other shops.very relax chill out place. too bad no kopitiam beside it for us to chill. i really recommend them if u stay ard bp or need a quick fix. they'll attend to you first if ur bike problem is small.
