ok , u imagine a mountain bike, ader banyak gear part reat wheel. the larger the gear, the easier u need to cycle up a slope given a constant effort.

 

when u use a smaller rear gear with the same effort, u may have difficulty u to up the same slope. to overcome this difficulty u need more effort or power.

 

so in bike terms; same gear, same effort.

 

a)using a smaller wheel diameter, u travel less distance per wheel revolution but u will feel a good pickup.

 

b)using a bigger wheel diameter automatically increases ur wheel circumference. u travel more per wheel revolution on a straight road but sacrifice on pick up during stationary position.

Yes u may need to bear with it lar. but if u travel alone as in tak menumpang, then quite alrite lar. i did wat u did before and yes i hated it but i tried to find ways how to use it to my advantage.

 

i dun deny i speed even on my wave on the firstlane. using bigger and wider tyres made me feel safe at around 110km/h compared to the skinny tyres that came with the bike. but when at traffik lites, memang menyumpah cos always the last one to move off. hahah...

 

wave is an underpowered bike. dat time in original form, i still remember tumpang encik riszuan kiter di jb naik bukit. haiz... motor cam nazak. and dat was using the original chain and sprockets.

 

maybe in ur case, since u dah tukar tayar, u need the sprocket change. either a bigger rear sprocket or a smaller front sprocket but NOT both at the same time.
