Liverpool Football Club has today officially announced the signing of Ukrainian international striker Andriy Voronin.

The 27-year-old, who was out of contract at Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen, will be unveiled to the media after 1pm today.

 

Rafa Benitez said: "He is a player with pace and with good movement. He plays between the lines, between defenders. He is a good worker also, and he scores goals.

another fine example of players being sold cheap and subsequently becoming fan favourite/captain is phil neville... sold for 3.5 mil... now captain of everton...

 

look at players who critique their teams and managers... man u has had the same manager for the past 21 years... arsenal had arsene for 11 years... in the same period of time... liverpool had 7 managers in the past 21 years... even chelsea had less changes in managers... 5 in 21 years... so we can only say that even if players left their team in unhapiness, there muz be something which makes the team sucessful and have the same manager for so long...

 

in the top 4 i stated... only liverpool had not won the league... but they hold the highest haul in champions league titles... 5... man u had 2... arsenal and chelsea had none...

In soccer, you can jolly well throw stats out of the window when they walk onto the pitch.

If I wanted stats, I would have followed American football or baseball, which I would heavily advice you to pursue. They have detailed databases on stats of each and every match in a season (i.e. average touchdown per game, average yard gain per play, etc for A. football & average batting, average base steals, etc for baseball). I'm sure it will keep you busy with the immense collection of stats for you to play with.

 

You want stats, I'll give you one. 3-0 down against AC Milan only to bounce back 3-3 and going on to win.

That night forth, I threw stats out of the window when I watch soccer.
