Wat a way to start the season!!

 

Torres looked played really well xcept for a goal to his name. Kuyt ever so hardworking, pennant and riise running tirelessly, alonso tackling and spraying passes efficiently, arbeloa and finnan as reliable as always, agger solid as a rock n carragher...apart from his handball incident strong and composed and lastly gerrard... oh no words can describe this man's workrate and contribution on the field. Hail KING Gerrard!! Wat a freekick!

 

And the subs.. voronin looked quite industrious and babel is such an explosive player! Did anyone saw his 2 shots??!! My gosh they shud measure the power/speed of those shots!! haha! And ....Sissoko... err... hmmm... :faint:

Kuyt & Torres looks good together also... if ever they put Voronin, Torres and Kuyt together... every attack should be quite exciting...

 

Gerrard made the freekick look so simple... its going to be played alot of times for this season.. But finnan, i think he was beaten flat out by the opposition" i forgot the name" for quite a few times but it seems like that guy is damn quick and not many should be able to keep up..

I think he was from Watford last season.

He was fast and pretty good on the feet. No doubt outplayed & out-turned Finnan several times.

But in that case, LFC did the proper thing: team in pairs to hold him back.

 

Dun think Rafa will play a 4-3-3 formation, especially when he is playing Gerrard in centre. Think this season he prefers a more wide-playing formation with dedicated wingers. I hope to see Babel play more on the wings. If Rafa can adapt the playing style to a more passing & flank-play, would be much more exciting & fruitful. Noted that most of the successful attacks in the match came from ground & passing play instead of a direct, long-ball attack.

The long ball tactic has always been the english way! remember owen's time, his pace and accurate passing from midfield bring goals...but it is easy for the defence to predict...

 

the current team looks very good... yup need to see more of babel..

But Owen's play was a bit too predictable, depending on defenders to make a bad decision whether to play an off side trap or not.

After defences wisened up, he changed his style to a more dribbling attack, taking on defences and using his pace to try skip past them.

 

So, with a more diverse option in midfield, an industrious striker (Kuyt) & a pacy finisher (Torres), why not go for a passing game?

but i like owen for his fox in the box play, like alan shearer, they are just good at being at the right place at the right time. Strikers need abit of luck sometimes. Seems like owen has that kinda luck in him.

 

This season is exciting for liverpool fans. We have alot to look forward to.

i believe rafa will go for the wing attack...see the players he brought in...with SG scoring that free kick...the team must be in high sprits...

 

hopefully they can finish off chelsea next weekend!:)
