Figure 8 if you suddenly lose speed by cutting your throttle. You will surely get into a situation that's either you fall or you lose balance and lose alot of time.

The trick is once you enter the curve area. NEVER release the throttle. Once you lose speed, you will fall when you are turning. If you feel you are going into the curb during the turn because the speed is too fast, step harder on your REAR brakes, it will reduce the speed significantly. And do not change your throttle gripping when in the curve. Only on the straight portion (about 5 meters only in between the curves) should you fiddle with your throttle. After that look at the exit point.

Try this during your CR. Fix your throttle holding position. Use rear brake to slow down. Eye point at the opposite side of O you are in. Your peripheral vision will help you avoid the curb nearby. Have confidence. :)

Oh and don't worry the brake pads wear out will be replaced by the school :p so no need to help them save $ :p

Did CR earlier, think i did much better on the Figure 8 now. Eye point is important and also need to be daring on the leaning. Now quite confident, i keep doing it earlier. Straight portion, i throttle so I can cut some time (i feel).

My plank, now also quite confident. Can control quite okay on the plank.

Now thinking whether to go for 1 more CR or try Lesson 4 straight.

Oh, also found a bike which I am quite comfortable with, except after I right signal, it gets abit tough to cancel it. Think the button abit koya in that position.

Thanks...!

:cheer::cheer: keep it up!

Take the CR just before the lesson 4 if you have the time :) that way you can "reserve" that bike that you're used too. Helps with the confidence knowing how the bike will respond...

I used to take self declare break in between the CR, park the bike and walk into the canteen to have a drink and take a rest.

Don't tire yourself out the first 2 hours. All the best for your L4!

After 1 year of hectic school life, I decided to continue (repeat) Lesson 2.

I'm kinda rusty now, so how can I derust myself.

Erm... Start riding again? Refresh your memory and listen to the instructors tips. Have fun and relax. Enjoy the ride.

Go for it! Remember to just focus on the Basics. Don't think to much about the part that you need to pass the class. Focus on improving your riding skills. Passing will come naturally.

Pass Lesson 4 today... Huat ar...!!! :D Using that same bike... :thumb:

No points at all from courses, and all.

Got 4 points from 1 stupid blind spot which I just learnt how to do properly. It's the one at the starting point. I double checked with the instructor earlier but he also nv mentioned the BS at the right. :pity:

signal left

Check left, right

check back (right side)

move off

Check left blind spot

check right blind spot (when at the right bend)

Haha... Pass can already lar :)

Give u confidence! I had really low points during my L4 and L7. but on the actual test... PANIC!. Had alot of stupid mistakes... Check back also can check wrong side (on the road, its rather confusing... got kerb next to you, you'll need to check back away from the kerb. At L5 you'll learn that :) )

But end of the day... PASS. And you learn as you ride. Just keep learning and riding safe!

Guess what...

Aprilla : RS125?

For a 7 year old bike : 5-6k.

Insurance for a year : 2-2.5k depending on age. most P platers with aprilla get a quote of 2.5k...

sure its the most beautiful bike for a 125cc... but its also one of the most "bwang" i've known.

Why, i guess because it goes really fast and its very light... for a really inexperience rider... so that combined is quite a .... bad combination.

in that case then mai tu liao... :)

can start paying attention to the buy and sell here. and sgbike . there are a few being sold... and since u want to upgrade... then don't get new bikes... unless u intend to keep it for more than 5 years :)

But a 2B and a 2 bike... the power is worlds apart... hee hee... even with 400cc its already very different... kinda getting used to the 400cc already... ah... its almost time to go for 2 :) can't wait!

Fail my Lesson 5. No major issues with U turn. Comments are speed regulations (actually I thought it's quite okay), U Turn (I cock up 1 U Turn at RP, saw a group of girls and got distracted.. hahaha).

Overall, I think just need abit more road time.

Hi All , very pleased to be your acquaintance .

I just join tis forum to get to know the rider community more better, their experiences and advices they share here. Very useful and at the same time fun.

I am also current a 2B student at SSDC, signed up mid of Jan 2015. Currently going for my prac 6 next week on the 8th Apr .My path ascending up the prac lessons is not that superb. See my milestones below:-

Prac 1 - 2x , Prac 2 - 3 x( narrow plank cannot master well) , Prac 3 a - 2 x , Prac 3b - 2x ....

Prac 4 - assessment(S) - 5 times!! - no 1 - 1 IF ( being confused, ride on plank without instructor signal)

no 2 - no IF but 24 points , blinds spots, slow figure 8 , crank course,

no 3 - 1 IF ( footed at crank course) ,& 12 points

no 4 - tis one disaster! lost control of bike at e brake and "buang"(flew off bike), later injured my right elbow became swollen , 2 weeks cannot ride bike .

reason of fall - too fast , too hard braking , back tyre flipped and bike crashed. luckily helmet stayed on my head. My right elbow guard may have loosen

and went below my elbow, thus when I fell on my right shoulder , right elbow hit the ground hard...ADOI!!. was in pain for 2 weeks .

LESSON LEARN -1) no need to be speed too fast during e brake , open throttle short distance on gear 1 and 2 , on gear 3 MAINTAIN throttle all the way till reaction

line.

2) ensure that your paddings and helmet is properly strapped and in place, esp b4 attempting e -brake test, just in case things go wrong,

no 5 - after 2 weeks and afew CR , Passed - 6 points !!

Prac 5 - My most surprised result - passed in 1 attempt.. So still got a few more to cover...looking back its a truly an educational journey,

Next up - Prac 6 - on the 8 April ...

It is scary but tis add to my learning journey. The dangers are real,so tis allow me how not to repeat such things. I hope the rest ride safely and no such incident occurs.

Sorry to hear about your bwang.

But i'm sure now you know how that feels, and thats at the speed of... 20km? since you've already slowed down already.

Imagine that at 80-100kmh and a car hits u. You have got a valuable lesson in school.

Next is to get a nice riding jacket and a beautiful Full Face helmet after you pass :)

Thanks for the advice Nsr,Siphon. Definitly need to invest on safety gears..buying IRon man suit.

But putting on a full face whist riding a kapchai will attract weird look on by others..
