during the U-Turn, if you are the first rider.

After red light become green, you inch out to right, do you tilt your handlebar to right?

Yes, the reason is to show the intention to behind driver that you are going to make "U-Turn" not Right Turn.

Then when you check back left then inch out to right already, when traffic clear, do you check back right or left?
you should check back "Left" side even so moving a inch. (I think you should know why the reason is not check back "Right" side)

I check back left, then throttle and look at the lane and move.

that should be "Blind Spot" on left after you had check back left before moving off.

Hi there hope this might help you. :D

Diao actually I wanted to ask the instructors my doubt but after park bike park the instructors disappear never mind.

Next revision will ask.

Becos if I am the 3rd bike onwards no issue, green arrow out I check back left, move off then before U-turn I check right blind spot and look into lane to U-turn.

My only confusion is the U-Turn for how to check right blind spot when I am first bike when it cleared, I check back left and then I look into

the lane to U-turn and throttle. So far from what I did the instructors never comment anything..

Just wanted to thank all the folks who gave good tips on how to go thru the lessons and get the 2B license. It really helped me in my quest.

I was one of the lucky 27 (out of 51) who made it yesterday (9/7).

Its been a long and tiring journey and here is my path ...

Lesson 1- 2x

Lesson 2- 3x

Lesson 3p1- 3x

Lesson 3p2- 1x

Lesson 4- 1x

Lesson 5- 1x

Lesson 6- 1x

Lesson 7- 1x

Circuit Revision - 9x

Road Revision - 4x

TP Test - 1x (2 points)

One more thing ... doing the EFR was exhilarating and an eye-opener.

Thanks again and safe riding everyone !

Basically, i think both methods will not get you any demerit points? just a matter of preference... but your whole bike should "show" that you are going to u-turn. Not just the handle bar.

My own experience is that if the handle bar is tilted before you turn... the feeling of "falling" is higher because it is harder to accelerate the bike in that position. So usually i turn the bike to the right first then straighten the handle bar. After that move off, check blind spot then cub corner...

:) hope it helps.

The more you kan chiong, the more you stress. The more you stress, the more mistake you make. The more mistake you make the more "you may come again" happens... Don't forget... after all the lessons you prob will need to wait 2 more months before taking the test... if you don't practice more during CR and lose the feeling... failing the TP will result in another 2 months wait...

The pain is only for a few months... after that... the freedom on the road is for the rest of your life... if you ride safely that is :)

My bike learning journey ended 2 weeks back when i got my class 2... almost 3 years from the day i started my 2B. All pass 1st try. hehe now can brag... cause pass already.

Patience my friend, and you will make it.

Hello! Recently enrolled and like to check:

1) Is BTT and RTT testing the same thing? I hold a class 3 licence and was told to skip BTT and apply for RTT after finishing my 4 Theory + 2 x Practice + 1 Trial.

2) Is there limited slots for RTT? Was wondering if I still can apply it 1 week before the exam. Otherwise, how often are these test held? Once a month?

3) Is there a way to check timing slots after making a pratical booking? Seems like they disable the function all together once a booking is made.

Thank you all for sharing your experience, it has been a good read so far :)

1) Quite similar I would say. Anyway fail proof cos u will need to attend the practice and pre-test

2) All test dates are here - https://www.ssdcl.com.sg/Home/TestDate. Test dates listed are as per when you would register. My advice, register everything ASAP.

3) Unfortunately, I think SSDC don't have this feature like BBDC. You can only see it if you try to make another booking, which means if you find ur desired slot, you quickly cancel your current slot (provided not trysell) then register for the desired slot. I did this many times.

Thanks FTW.

For the orientation class, just to double check,

- Do we need to bring our gears (helmets/guards)?

- Is there a locker to put our stuff while the class commerce? Do we have to get a locker before orientation class begins, or just hold on to our barang barang?

thanks :)

Orientation no need for any gears

Orientation no need to put anything in locker.

Actual class, try to travel light. If not, you can use the locker. If inexpensive stuffs, use the pigeon hole when u go into the circuit area.

Hi Catnipnapper,

The orientation class that need to bring got two (very important) yourself & booklet. :D

As for the attire make yourself comfortable with it (even can wear a slipper, if you want). :o

Orientation class (briefing about safety so on) not riding on bike around the place... The Gear stuff if you don't have it, SSDC got provided the helmet & elbow + keen guard (but not "glove") also will need it starting from Practical Lesson 1 onward. ;)

Sorry almost forget to mention the last thing is number tag must wear (very important) also check with the instructors which colour for you. :)

Welcome you to the bike world too. :D

Hey FTW and FireGunz,

Thank you for the clarification! I went to SSDC and didn't become a blur sotong thanks to the things you both have pointed out :)..

I'm quite surprised the slots for weekends are limited, I have to wait about 1 week gap inbetween classes :/.. this will take forever to finish. Any pointers in able to secure weekend slots everyweek?

Posted

HAHA, same prob for me and have to wait a week or more for my next booking classes.

now got stuck in lesson 4 even though pass. Can not get lesson 5 online for my PDL not validated yet. :(

I missed one step and will try to go to SSDC this week just to have it validated. :(

Steps on PDL.

1. Validate or chop PDL application form that I pass BTT in the info counter

2. Apply and pay (NETS/cash) for PDL in Traffic Police window.

3. Return to info counter to validate PDL.

Hi Catnipnapper, you're welcome. As you mentioned about the time slot? Yes, for SSDC need at least 1 week from class to class (mostly to what I know). If you are fast learner then it might be less then 8 month (include pass TP as TP waithing time need around 2 month period of time to take test) to be completed. ;)

@FireGunz: ! 8 months, means PDL will expire halfway through. Thanks for the rouge estimation, I'll plan when to activate my PDL :)

@kumagako: Thanks for sharing the steps to get PDL! How has your lesson 1 - 4 progress been so far? Instructor told me some people took average 5 times for Lesson 1 to progress to next level. With one lesson per weekend.. I wonder if I will ever complete.

progress was bad (almost finished two pages of chop and still to LEsson 5) and of course I will always blame the bike. hehehe. i went oso through the normal trap of taking too much CR, been driving around the course, doing the wrong things and nobody tell you your wrong.

My tip is to stop the CR when you are confident on the bike and proceed in the L4 assessment. Although more expensive, but you will not forget your mistakes because they will draw it down (red ink) in the course map of your assessment paper.

Good if you can list out where you are weak in. Sometimes pointers from us might help.

I also feel, it's good to watch those beginner videos in YouTube, it could prepare u. At least, it did for me.
