Was so darn happy to get my Wave back today......solved the powercut problem, so the bike can full bawl now. On my way back from Company dinner, near my house, there's this SAF guy in #4 riding a white S4. Being overly happy, I became a little playful and tailed him......as expected, he slowed and signalled left to make a turn at a slip rd. Me, who also use the same route, tailed him less than 1 meter away even during the bend. He made a wide turn, and either he's shocked by my actions, or he's damn pissed by me. He gave way to me, to let me overtake him. Yeah, either he's shock, or he thinks I'm damn BohLiao......whatever, I felt so stupid.

At the junction ahead, he made a right while I made a left into the major rd. I was kindda Peiseh that I did not even look at him when I turn my head right to check for traffic......

Up ahead, I followed behind a Taxi, only to have it slow down with immediate hazard lights to pick up a customer. I braked early as I was mentally prepared for it.

It felt like retribution..... :faint: My bad.

Actually the helmet not really that bad lar......just that it's could be better, to be priced at $500 region. When I got it, I was full of praises for it......but it never last. Good for the rich who could discard a helmet once every yr and get a new one :thumb:

I'm giving Shoei a try......bought 2 clearance ones which just nice fit my wife and I. A Z Cruise for her, which is super light and a X8 for me. At $400 each. Yet to wear them......

 hmmm.... i really like the shark helmet that i saw..... but if it should drop and end up looking like ur helmet when it dropped at pg........ wa... damn heart pain leh.... if i get something i make sure it can last a long time or else i would feel like i wasted money on it.... i still deciding lei..... shoei not bad too i think.... designs so far i have seen people wear r quite nice. eye catching in fact...:cry:

Seriously, any good helmet will also have paint chip if drop on some rough surface.....think I drop it on the tarmac that's why. My wife's drop on smooth cement floor, not so bad.

Go for your fav RX7....no need to think so much. Save the cash now.....

Anyways, how long do you expect a helmet to last you??? I think Shoei mentioned something about 3 -5 yrs......dun really remember. That's why I dun even bother to get back an old RX7 from a fren whom I asked to help spray the helmet. That's like 3.5 yrs ago. And the helmet I own for 2 yrs already.

Like shoes, helmet designs are getting nicer and nicer :cheeky: Every 3 yrs change one lah!!! :thumb:

Cha Bors,

There's this lady who slightly elder than me, riding an R1 in the track with her hubby, who's on a K4 GSX 1000. She easily got my attention when I saw her the first time at a track day months ago. I mean, she dun ride fast, but she's enjoying herself......together with her hubby. How admiring.....

Saw her again on a Sat track and actually talked to her. Actually Machina started the conversation first, asking her about her lady racing suit.

:thumb: up to ladies who go track.... Check out the Ducati Team Y2K. It's a dual female racing team. Dunno if other teams are gals riders or not.....should be I guess.

Actually safety, is depending on how hard you fall, and how you break your fall. Honestly, I never fell using the Shark, but the HJC!!! Twice, once @ PG, once on the rd. You can see that I'm still alive and kicking!!!! You did not see a ghost on Mon :cheeky:

Then again, about the gal with a Arai who skidded but got ran over??? Poor thing.....

I read the Shoei's manual and it says that quality helmets cannot prevent fatality but can greatly reduced the possibility. For your case, you have stick to brands like Arai and even considered Shark, I would say you are better protected than those putting on THH, MHR, and low end open face helmets like Nova, GPR, etc. :thumb:

To be fair to Shark, at least MotoGP riders use it. Again.....it's the damn velvety felt!!!! Ha ha ha..... I think those racers change a helmet a month, what do you think??? Of course, when they crash, they will get a new lid. It's nothing compared to their race damaged fairings.....

Yea.....dunno what's taking so long. Probably it's not easy to expand the rd due to buildings along the rd. This rd has been in Sg for decades!!! For my family when I was young, this is the only route to go to town when there's no BKE. Have to go Bukit Timah rd to go then into PIE. Forgot the days without PIE liao.....

perhaps but certain stretch there r no bldgs at all. last nite one part became a 1 laner. every other day, u c a new route.

for me other routes alot of detours and longer so i stuck to this route. last nite kerna scare by a p plate female rider suddenly swerving into the front of the cab am in n i dun think she chk'd cos i saw her looking in another direction. later on change lane w/o chking again and i felt v worried for her and tot to myself sheesh i could hv done the same thing myself not realising how dangerous it is.
