I went this morning for the 10 am slot. There were only 6 bikes, inclusive of mine running round the track. Had useful session practicing corner linings and braking points.

NoLogicOne and DeusExMachina came for the 11 am slot.

Tomorrow... maybe I go and watch, I heard alot of super motards coming down.

Quite wary of the 3 hour specials... too many bikes on the tracks.. and that is the day for some high speed showoffs to appear.

I slowpoke on the track... so instead of enjoying the ride and trying to practice my lining and braking points.. I will be too preoccupied watching my ass for fear that one of the crotch rockets might slam into me from behind.

I rather stick to weekdays and Saturdays.

Nice to have met you Raptor.

Hope u had a fun time. My pals and I certainly did. Unfortunately one of our numbers highsided at the chicane T9. So our post track session activity was to escort him to JB for repairs and back into SG. Got caught in the afternoon rain too. hehe.. Sh1t happens I guess.

Tomorrow is gonna be a big event I heard. RM80 for the 3hr special. But according to the track Mgr, they're "only" letting 35 bikes onto the track at once as per FIM regulations.

Damn it's gonna be crowded. I'm giving it a miss. Already wore myself out today. Like you, I foresee some ppl trying too hard to impress... I hope everybody gets to ride there AND ride home too, tomorrow.

A pleasure to have met you too.

Yep, I did have alot of fun today. I am still in the process of experimenting with my suspension setup and tyre pressures.

I have come to realise through trial and error that the CBR 1000 suspension is too soft in the standard settings. I have hardened everything by 2 and now find that the tyres do not slip on me that easily.

The Diablo Corsas cannot be run at 30 PSI at all. They flex too much and run too hot resulting in slides. Today I ran them at 32 PSI on the front and 35 PSI on the rear... feels so much more firm and the bike did not slide that much under power or when entering corners.

This was my 5th excursion on the track... I need more track time!! But the Diablo Corsas seem to be wearing fast!!!

huh like that oso can ah?

It makes sense too, or else how are they going to chase the speed demons? Then again, if they exceed their license limits and fail to catch the offender, they will get charged most probably. But if they catch the offender, they will most probably get a raise or promotion, ironic right?

Went to Pasir Gudang this morning to watch.

Musta have been at least 40 bikes there.... and a sprinkling of motards too.

And there was the fair share of drama too... someone blew a gasket and dropped oil on the track... 2 bikes went down.... whole session held up by an hour as Said and gang ran about like blue assed flies pouring cement dust around the track.

One hour later... all the bikes started going out... and there were riders wheelieing down the front straight. Other bikes were blasting past him on the straight on both sides.

I dunno what you guys think...maybe I am over reacting or overly cautious (no offense to anyone please) but I think its kinda dangerous and a case of poor timing. :sorry: He should be doing this kind of stunts only when there are no other riders on the track, not at a time when everyone has paid for and are trying to get the best outta the session.

Mebbe he is a wheelie king but all it takes is for him to land awkwardly to one side or overcook it and crash, he's gonna bring down alot of other innocent riders.

It has been proven many a time before that sh*t can and will happen.

Hehe.

Ask NoLogicOne abt the Diablo Corsas. He's using them now. I'm still on Dunlops.

Erm, to summarize, what he told me was that DCs can be pumped up with equal pressures front and back. Can't remember the pressures.. 32x32 or 34x34.

Also, to drop your fork ard 5mm thru the triple clamps to compensate for the tyre profile. In fact, some ppl have also agreed with this. Have you tried that yet?

I'm switching to DCs on my next change to see how it goes. :thumb:

Ya, Shah was looking at the wear on my rear tires and first thing he said was that I need to stiffen up the suspension and turn the damping settings harder.

OK looks like the rear shock spring preload will have to be set harder 3 steps from standard setting. Damping and rebound will be go harder half a turn or at least 2 clicks.

As for dropping the forks... yet to try. Anyway... can explain what is the rationale for dropping the forks??

Supposedly, dropping the forks will affect the bike's geometry such that there will be some weight transfer a bit forward, to your front tyres. Supposed to make your steering input a lil sharper. But if you drop it too much you will experience a bit of headshake n maybe some fishtailing when on the brakes.

I think my rear is a bit soft too. Well, I'll ask around and see to that next time. I need those guy's help to reset my sag properly first...

If the white hut you talk about is the one where they get the immigration forms... just before the Johor immigration checkpoint, then yes, I was the one riding the Repsol replica with the Yoshi pipe. Had a friend with me who was riding an R6.

We were parked behind the first pit next to Shahs van at the track.

Espyfumi, Alizée fan too?

Ahhhhhhhhh.......... Professor Tashi... you never fail to guide me to a higher level of learning with all your internet knowledge. You may not have the answer but you know which door I should go through.

Looks like actually on my own, I was actually headed in the right direction to self actualisation. You have just speeded up the process.

So... the current suspension settings from the factory for the CBR 1000 RR is way too soft!!!!

And I may have missed the opportunity to meet Espyfumi today at the track. Sigh. :slapforehead:

Was riding back from work just now... along KJE I suddenly saw a cub kia approaching me fast from behind. I did not notice it earlier simply because it did have its headlights on.

When it went past me... I noticed that his meter lights were on and his tail lights were out too. How the hell he can go riding like that??

I notice that alot of the Malaysian cub kias tend to have no tail lights. I think that is crazy... especially when you meet them running in the dark along the 2nd link. I never like riding fast in the innermost lane of the 2nd link at night...just in case I run into the back of one of these bikes.

Makes me wonder how do the minds of these people work.

I dunno about you man, Kiss.

The way you ride your VFR800 at Pasir Gudang.....carrying such high corner speeds, tire pressures seem to be the least of your problems. :faint:

Professor is an understatement. When I was in uni, my concession card reads Tan Sri Dato Dr Tashi.

Allow Tan Sri to explain, no tail lights means can't see no. plate, other famous mods include tilting the number plate up, breaking the plate to remove some letters.
