You may try this Sports HD DV SJ1000 cam. It costs about $100. It is water resistant 30m under water with a transparent cover. I have been using it on my bike and it comes with multiple mounts for cars, clip on for jogging, motorcycle mounts for handle bars and helmets too. The video is very clear. It is a 1 year warranty. Can get it from JML synerGIZ in Macpherson Road.

The package comes with two 3M base plates where you have to paste it on top of the helmet. With the cam, you just need to clip it on and it is very stable.

I normally mount it on my handle bar, but needs to live with some video vibrations due to the movement of the bike. Helmet mounted will be a good option

for NSH trips, but it looks weird riding in Sg for short distances. Attached is a picture of how it looks when mounted on the helmet.

i am worried that the plate that is pasted on the helmet would come loose over time. does it mean only 1 helmet can be mounted unless additional accessories are acquired?

btw, thanks for sharing! would consider this model

There are 2 base plates meant for 2 helmets with 3M stickers. The camera itself is very light in weight. To remove the base plate from your helmet, you need to use zippo fluid as it is stick too tight on the helmet. You will have difficulty just pulling it off.

after trying many type of camera from super budget type to super ex one such as go pro.

I found my solace with drift ghost hd. Very reliable and quality is top notch. Waterproof without any casing. Single charge can go from 2.5 to 3. With all these goody good features, the camera has already paid for itself.

i bought additional battery. So I have have max 5-6 hours of recording time in a day. Recently they have launched another new model. Tempted to get another one!

Mine isn't ghost. It's the 1080 model. There's a settings for low light condition. Have not really bother to try it yet though. Default settings is fair enough for me

Night recording is just so so. Not as good as day recording. The newest one seems to have that feature.

Thanks a lot! I might hold out and get the latest version, DRIFT GHOST-S, since I do most of my riding at night and I would prefer an all rounder.

Today while riding... on my way home from school around 6pm, realised PIE --> Changi Airport parallel near Paya Lebar exit at lane 1 is a hotspot for accident. Saw accident yesterday and today almost at the exact same spot. Yesterday's involved 1 motorcycle and 2 cars (I believe), saw the bike upright and the uncle negotiating with the drivers so assumed no injuries.. Today's involved cars... drive and ride safe everyone, especially during peak hours(:

As usual, this happened this afternoon in Brisbane

Was leaving the city centre after doing my errands in town and was heading home. At William St, turning to the highway, there're 2 lanes. One going to the northern suburbs, the other is going south (which is where I'm headed). I was on the lane going to south. Next lane is a bus.

When the lights changed green, we moved off at the same time. The bus changed lane into my lane right after the turn! I knew something was wrong, so I slowed down and soon, the bus cut where I would have been if I didn't slow down! I let the bus move off before merging with the peak hour traffic going south.

I travelled about 4.5 km on the highway ( I know because I'm using Google Maps to calculate the distance) when the bike ran out of fuel! Signs were obvious. Lack of power. So I slowed down and tried to change the fuel tap from On to Reserve but no avail. So I stopped at an emergency bay. From there, I tried to restart the bike but it didn't successfully start. I know it's not the battery because I can see from the voltmeter that the alternator is still charging. So I called for help on the emergency phone but the phone is spoilt. I can't hear anything.

I called a couple of friends using my mobile but they were interstate. So I tried to call other road assistance but they didn't want to help unless I buy their membership, which I felt isn't worth the price (nearly A$200!). I decided to walk along with the traffic to the next exit but stopped almost halfway when I saw that the bus lane from the busway merged into the highway. I wanted to go that way because I remember there's a Shell petrol station around there.

I turned back and walked past my bike and up along the highway for about 200m until I came to another emergency bay! This time, the phone works. I managed to get to the operator and explained what happened. They sent the tow truck to me as I walked back to the bike.

Can see my bike in the background?

There! Against the wall.

Tow truck arrived about 10 minutes after I reached my bike and gave me premium fuel for A$10. It's a lot cheaper than paying for the membership for road assistance, I tell you that! From there, I rode off when the tow truck blocked the oncoming traffic for me and I was off on to my merry way before the sun set.

In Singapore you will be fine for running out of fuel on a highway. :)

Fine as in pay extra money. And they will only tow to out of the expressway for u. All have to make your own way to petrol station.

And the tow truck won't be for motor bike type this if any damages to the bike is your own cost as its your own fault for running out of fuel. This in Singapore even if this happen, so not call the emas. Better to call the private tow service

Sadly the EMAS will reach without you calling before the private tow truck could reach especially on expressways.
