okay now i very confused. haha. my bike piston now can hear very loud already. idk if need to rebore or top overhaul or something. any advice?

piston can hear loud doesnt mean need to rebore..might be ur conrod shaking also...but whatever it is what faris said is true..no need to rebore first..unless ur sound is bcause u seize already..just change piston and polish block will do..

rim size is standard, 18". speedo cable and speedo hub is one of the factors too? never check those two. sorry bro noob at this :/ thats why my mileage spins faster :s

if 18" then got prob..i think something wrong somewhere already..it shouldnt have this prob.

Yea . shouldnt have problem. Maybe your speedo cable give way already? take out the cable n inspect if it looks damaged or anything. And remember to put it back properly it has like a square end it must be directly fix into the hole IF not properly fixed back the cable or the speed thingy inside the hub can be damaged.

Hi guys for spareparts first place you need to go to is united motor along rowell road beside weda. Then further up is auto machinery. United price is fairly cheap. Like main jet is $5 auto is $8. But auto machinery mostly carry the japan parts. So you need to ask carefully if its malaysia or japan.

DIY your rxz: ive done many diy projects myself important thing is to make sure what ever you take you put back!! Some screws are long some are short. And some is facing up some facing down. Before beginning to open up your bike buy the top gasket and bottom block gasket. And make sure all your tools are complete. Open up your block using a socket wrench. Size 12 or 14. The tricky part is to take out the piston clip. You need to be careful not to let the clip fly. Open one clip will do then the piston rod can be taken out then you take out your piston lah. Clean or polish do what ever you want with it. But most importantly people take out piston is to change the piston rings. Changing piston rings will add a little life to your piston. And it will not sound that loud. And its cheaper and easier compared to rebore your block and change to a newer piston. Estimate cost of changing piston ring DIY without plug is $20+ (rings+gaskets) when tightening up the block do it across then across again.

Its not as complicated as it looks !!!

I might be having a DIY session for a friend bike change clutch plate on the 30th April tampines. So those who want to kaypo kaypo can come down lah. Any other DIY session please sms me so i can book a date and help you if iam free. 84797926

Cheers!

ah . will be heading down on 30th april =) watch n learn. I needa change clutch plate soon also.

wah faiz!! just what i suspected you are also in here! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok listen up those who wanna DIY their RXZ top service need to get this 2 gasket and of cos new plug! exhaust gasket also can buy lah if you want

DSC_8097.jpg

then remove the top block lah!

DSC_8048.jpg

after cleaning and polishing the piston fix back with the arrow pointing forward!!

DSC_8070.jpg

Basic Tip: Those who want a little power (DIY) you guys can go ahead to WEDA @ rowell road and purchase this great product: Boyesen Dual Stage Reed $40. It is actually a reed petals. Awesome response! More crisp throttle and your bike will not stutter on top speed.

Iam actually in the process of getting a Vforce 3 Full Reed Valve System from the states.

My bike should be done running in by now. Will update further

:)

Nice post Bro! Anyway i needa get the special wench . I scare of over tightening

im comparing with my friend's rxz and x1r. the thing is, its not possible for my z to reach 100km/hr at gear 3, at rpm 7+k. do you guys know if this is not a the meter problem? like can tweak something so it will measure speed normally? or is it the meter? :

drag gear , gear 4 can do it for a 5 speed z..check ur meter cable..:)

If u are travel 80km

Class2a will be 70km

Class2 bike and cars will be 55-60km

my meter is as acc as a mpv[car] because my sprocket settings are stock , wheel size stock , tyre just serviced my mech..:)

the only diff is when it is compared to gps..

so...i dare to go on lane 1 without being flashed at unless it's a sports car behind me..

it all depends on stock conditions..because big bike , no one modify sprocket size other than racing purposes..

torque wrench u mean..by all means..but no need la bro..just do handtight can already..follow this rule i learnt from a workshop i attend at school..once u feel that uve tighten the nut/bolt/screw,just do another 1/4 to 1/2 turn...that should do it..dont need too much precision on motor vehicles unless ur repairing an aircraft.

thats where i can say ur definitely not on the spot on the big bike...ive not reach on class 2 yet so i cant comment..but what i can say about 2a is..

theres definitely ppl who change their sprocket size be it smaller or bigger and it depends on their purpose(e.g touring, commuting) for bikes such as cb400,the only thing is u seldom hear them changing sprocket as often as we do coz its not cheap and theirs can last longer.

in my exp, having CB400,the difference in sprocket size definitely play a part in speed displayed.having bigger rear sprocket shows my speed being faster than true speed, while smaller rear shows slower than true speed.thats why comparing with S4 may not be the best also due to this error..and many new S4 riders who never changed sprocket before donno about this.

yea..btw , there is a app called diablo bike , for android and apple users..this app can show lean angle , speed..but of cause must position phone correctly..

Hi if you want you can get those bicycle speedometer that you can enter your wheel circumference manually. Or if you have spare cash can grab koso meter lah!

Torque wrench is expensive thats why i always borrow from my friend. Dont really know how to use it lah but anyway iam going to use it first time this friday. I just wanna retorque my top block. Which is so prone of thread damage.

Iam not a mechanically qualified myself i dont even enter ite or engineering school. Yah maybe you are right i have the itchy hands syndrome.

U mean wen tis happen? Yeay... Sux wen u dah swee2 polish everythn up, NEW gaskets all in place and BAM! Thread jahanam. Lol... Lucky got spare block wif the same piston size....

Ouh yeah, regarding the bicycle speedometer, just to add, buy those wired ones and not the wireless ones for ur speedo mite not be able to detect the transmitter placed on ur fork... -based on true story XP

mechanically gifted hands and brains..sometimes no need to have formal education also..a lot of ppl have la not so rare like singing..hahaha

one thing i forgot to address about torque wrench.

Xavier, even if u buy the torque wrench it is of no use for rxz, because u need to know the torque value to apply,if u donno its the same as using normal wrench where u 'agak2' only.and to get this torque value u needa service manual from yamaha..so far i found only parts catalogue on the net..dont waste money on it..not even the mech in sg or jb are using the wrench..

Alright . Hahaa forgot how to spell torque LOL!. Hand tight hmmm. Thats what i did to my drain plug for EO. hand tight

@syamitomo yes correct. The thread will JAHANAM if you didnt tighten it properly. Like he said also is correct no use to buy a torque wrench just for tightening 4 nuts!! Other nuts iam ok handtight over tight it is still OK. Only the 4 block nut that iam very particular so luckily i have a friend who have this wrench. Important thing i want to say is because the nut have 4 so on all 4 must be tighten up with the same amount of torque. No matter what the torque number is. You feeling me? :)

oh ya i understand that..but hope u get the torque value lower than or the same value as per yamaha stated...coz the torque wrench is powerful..in the hands of a user who has no clue at all on how it works..can actually do damage to the thread before he hears the 'knock' on the wrench by setting higher torque values..hahaha

but im sure u know how..just saying this for the ppl out there..
