so its tap from the battery.

but will it discharge the battery if not using for say a few days on holidays? & is there any specified wire & thickness of wire used?

 Road to Endless Destination is still burning.

momo, it won't discharge anything unless if there's a shortcircuit somewhere.

look at the "cigarette socket" as a switch. If theres nothing plug in, then the switch is open. No connection. If you plug in something then the switch is closed. Got connection.

somehow I feel, that is not a very good place to put in the socket.

Can only use the socket when the seat is open. Cannot charge handphone/mp3/pda etc on the go.

Ohz i see.... in any case, where do you think would be the best place 4 the socket? To me, under the seat still ok bah cause u wont be using ur HP much on the go or the charger wire would still be long enuff to go to the front of the bike where ur phone shall be :smle:

And also sorry cause i dunno about the sour affliation  in the picture u look different by the way hehe must be the sun glasses...

I oso tink tat is not an ideal plc to install the socket.

Near the battery compartment cover is a better plc to install the socket.

WhiteOryx; Can install the socket like the plc you install your voltmeter.

Jus my 2 cents...

oh i was probably 10kg thinner then! hahaha...

the issue with the socket position is that when you plug in the charger, there will be a part of the charger sticking out, so the seat can't close.

I found a socket with wire and alligator clips that came with my torque wrench. maybe can modify that to ring connectors and permanently connect it to the battery. wanna use only pull out into the underseat box.

the standard wire used for bike wiring should be fine.

but to be more specific, you'll need to use a wire that is capable of handling a current load of more than 15 ampere, as your fuse is rated to 15 ampere.
