I went to the car park opposite my house for lunch. When exiting car park, I rode on pavement to evade the EPS parking.

Then just nice a police car turned into the car park. Then he wind down his window asking me to stop, but I act blur continue riding back home lol.

Guess I gonna get fine for riding on pavement?

If got fine then will kena fine, if not, heck care. Why would I take a 500m route when its just 5m on the pavement.

Because its horribly selfish and inconsiderate, not to mention illegal, to ride and park on the pavement. Do you give way to legitimate users of the pavement? I've seen motorcyclists happily force pedestrians off the pavement by riding fast and making everyone dash out of their way.

@kill3r: Just find another carpark without EPS. Then your 65 cents lasts the whole day.

I agree with u. riding on pavement is dangerous for pedestrains and cyclist. but sometimes I will ride on pavement too when going to work, since my house is near a school. it always jam when exiting. but if I see kids on the pavement I will aviod it.

if I go pavement i just have to go 5m of pavement. if go by road need to go like 400M extra cuz need to u turn, and go 1 big round pass the school. So it is very hard to resist. other than morning peak hour i dont go by pavement.

But going by pavement is actually bad image for bikers. everyone hates it when a motorcycle is traveling toward u when you are walking.

I do agree it is dangerous to ride on pavement and I do make sure I ride only when the pavement is clear.

I am a season ticket holder, only drop by the market across the road to get my lunch. I would love to find another car park without EPS, but all car parks near my house is using EPS.

Perhaps I can only park my bike at my "seasoned" car park then walk to the market in future.

Thanks for your suggestion though.

Today just saw one asshat KFC rider ride fast on the pavement. Not just on the pavement but all the way 25m down the path into the void deck, scattering pedestrians as he went. A waste that I didn't get his licence number or I would have reported him. BTW guys, if you must park on the pavement, please do it considerately. I learnt a trick from JB motorcyclists that I would like to share. Park the bike on the grass patch between the road and pavement. Only the sidestand goes on the pavement. This way, the bike doesn't fall, it isn't in the way of pavement users, and thus no one is annoyed that you're parking there and won't report you. Everybody wins.

Please try not to ride on pavement. It gives all of us bikers a really bad name. If you really have to, do it when there is nobody. If you suay suay knock down someone, you'll be in deep trouble.

I would avoid parking on the pavement. The bike easily blocks half the space of the already narrow path. People with baby stroller or on wheelchair will have trouble going past. You never know if anyone will push your bike aside, knock it over, or scratch it (accidentally or purposely). Unless you are parking somewhere with very low human traffic, the risk is quite high.

Plus sometimes people (especially kids) don't know that the exhaust is very hot and brush against it and get burned. I guarantee you that the victim will take picture of your bike with number plate and STOMP you, plus complain to TP/LTA.

I don't understand why riders like to park at pavement, please lah $0.65Cents per entry (EPS) or coupon parking is already very cheap as compared to Cars parking.

Why take the risk of getting summons from authority, hate getting into trouble with the laws! Also the 400CC engine parts exhaust might hurt the vulnerable ones.

Heard from friends telling me that Cetris Cisco employed more traffic wardens , LTA enforcement officers also on the rise. So getting caught is very easy even parking for a short period of time.

Today, at tampines retail park courts I saw another idiot. Ikea just beside and got free sheltered motorcycle parking right, but noooooo, he must park on the pavement outside courts. If you are that idiot and you are reading this, i hope a bird shat on your seat. There is no excuse, so many lots were empty and parking itself is free.

I saw Cisco LTA warden using digital camera taking photos of the bikes parking on pavement, some no tickets, some with tickets but nothing mentioned on fine $$ composite, refer to rules.

Yup but to park on the pavement, its almost certain the person will ride to get there, as opposed to pushing the bike there which I personally have never seen anyone do.

Lol, the job he works doesn't pay much, if he doesn't make your life difficult, why make his difficult?

I bet you're like those kepo aunties who complain to LTA, HDB,SPF, NEA all at once when people have wedding ceremonies and the park all over the place...even if it does not obstruct traffic.
