yah i agree. I super noob! o_O so paiseh! :cheeky: more exp bros must help me... because i am all alone when dealing with bike. hehe...

anyway, i will take this as a learning experience when dealing with bike shops in the future.

$5 = good learning experience. :thumb:

Always ride safely and defensively.

Repair bike cheap and fast,

Repair body expensive and slow.

spore mainly got 2 types of bike shop..

1 is chop your head secretly and do slip shod work

2 is chop your head openly and do a good job..

bs is the second one.. i try not to deal so much with bike shops unless my bike really needs repairs.. basic maintainence can learn to do yourself.. if not, better to go find a bike shop which you can brother brother with..

Next time ask first before you ask them to do anything. Btw Hong Leong doesnt charge any fees for first 3 Engine Oil change. Just need to pay for the oil filter which i think is reasonable. Furthermore, i didnt even get my bike from them. The bottom line is to ask before hand.

maybe their service is very messy cos when i service my 2002 r1 when new with them i need to pay for oil and filter . but who cares cos this item need to be change after all but not to an extent of really sky high price .

The bikes were in fact with TP before giving over to MP...

Steps to do a proper KNNBCCB with middle finger.

1. Bow down slightly, looking intensely at objective

2. Like a raging bull, hop and jog slowly towards objective

3. Take your left palm and slap it hard on the right mid-arm with a SLAP!

4. With charisma, raise right arm, whilst showing middle finger (with left palm trapped in bend right arm)

5. Shout! KNNBCCB

My god it's only $5 for crying out loud! And this has got nothing to do if you're rich or poor!

$36 is not the highest in singapore. i've paid $80 for towing before. it depends on how professional they are in handling the bike.

Maybe because yours is a HD? (Based on your avatar and siggy :cheeky: ) Pardon me if I'm wrong. Peace, dude.

bikebulance offers that and they charge onli $25 at that time i tow mi bike, hence i am really curious what shiraz got when he pay $80 for his tow.

Well u it'll be very hard to explain to you what is better for the $80 tow. u got to see it for yourself la. the ties they use to secure the bike would not scratch the bike. they won't rotate the bike on the stand and drag and pull to get it in position. there will never be more than 1 bike on the same lorry. u can go together with the bike to whichever shop u want and they'll send u back home (or where ever u wanna go) after that.

so basically, this is what they do.

anyway, u won't be towing the bike every weekend so why bother if it's expensive? might as well have a good job done when the need arises (as towing doesn't happen that often)

you wouldn't wanna be thinking when the bike is scratched or something... "Ayiah should have gotten some1 more proffesional to do the towing"

It's your damn bike, wash it yourself! You rinse your own mouth after you eat, don't you?

Doesn't matter if it's a Harley or a BMW or anything bro, if a good job is done, good money needs to be paid. :)

Not only engine oil... Anything else that don't require too much time to fix also you can bring there ask them to fix it for you...

I remembered bringing 4L of engine oil, oil filter, spark plugs, headlight shield, KNN air filter and the mechanic changed all for me without utter a single word... No charges at all...

The mechanic from Boon Siew...

From wat i understand, TP ordered that fleet on bikes, had some issues and didn't deal with them. MP, on the other hand was looking for new bikes, BS offered them these bikes and they took it.

MPs are the first to ride VFR800P in sgp. Now TP have it too.....

Anyway, off topic liao. :cheeky:

Ahhh!!!!

Recently, I went to Boon Siew to do my first "free" warranty service. Happy happy went there to do the "free" service. Saw the mechanic happy happy, press the brake to see brake light, turn turn the handlebar a bit, press up and down the suspension. I thought ok lah, since "free" cannot complain. Then he went to change the engine oil.

To my horror later, they charge me $13! for the "free service". huh? I thought got warranty? They say service "free", engine oil not free.

they use Castrol Activ (mineral) engine oil.

It is ok. I don't mind paying for the engine oil.

but Yesterday I learnt that that engine oil only like $8 bucks at the most?!?!.

Those bloody peeps charge me $13 for $8 engine oil?!?!.

What "free" service? turn turn handlebar, press brake to see light. need $5 dollars ah?

Got conned by Boon Siew again!

Please learn from my lesson, just buy better oil and change it myself next time. $13 for $8 engine oil? these guys are pros man!

I got it worse! I brought my semi-syn in for a oil-change on my first 800km servicing. Lead mechanic told me that it is too early for semi-syn. They said, proper bike run in shld be at least 4,000km, all with only mineral oil. (any truth in tat?)

So i bohpian, brought back my semi-synthetic oil. Will try to get them to change to my semi-syn at 2,000km and then to fully syn at 4,000km.

It is stated clearly that Boon Siew give you FOC for service charge (which is about $70~$80 can't remember clearly) but not free oil or whatsoever...

It has been the same policy since donkey years back...

not really, when i bought my S4 from them about 3 years ago (FY plate), their 'free service' really free one... dun even need to pay for the EO & oil filter. somemore that time 3 free servicing.

but after that i never go back to let them service cos i dun like their service stuff attitude. very on the dot one, ever send my bike there for service and they rejected me cos they have are closing in 30 mins time. ask me to bring my bike back the next day.

i went to complain at the sales side, then the LL have to service. in the end, their so call servicing is just change EO, press press here, check check there... finished in 15 mins.

yah, that was last time... policy changed. but i do seriously agree that this should be properly communicated to the customers to avoid such unhappiness.
