my coms keep on hang after 5-15 min of using

What do you mean by hangs? It is that the screen juz freezes? Have you recently change any components? What program(s) is/are you running before it hangs?

 

I encounter before that when playing Granado Espada (before the latest patches), my screen will have wierd lines and it will hang.

 

Another experience is that is you change new graphic card (especially the gaming high end type), the power might not be enough thus causes it to hang when playing games.

 

This is the worst case scenario, did you hear any loud clicking sound from your comp? This could be due to harddisk gonna die. So better back up all your data out of the comp. If not, the cost of recovery is very very ex.

 

One way to know is to check your Log files to see anything fishy is causing it. It maybe some program or hardware component.

He says that it hangs whilst using it, so yeah I guess it already has been loaded.

 

Few things to look at: Hard disk corruption. If it's fine, probably your motherboard's acting up on ya.

It could be Power Supply. If possible borrow one instead of buying to test first. Coz tis type of situation very difficult to troubleshoot.

 

Maybe you would want to check your Event Viewer Under the System Sub-Menu to see any Critical errors (Usually marked by a Red Circle with a cross in it). Read them. It should be able to tell what is going on with your system.

 

To activate Event Viewer in WinXP; goto Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Event Viewer.

Do what IvikaRazI has suggested first. Then get back to us on the results.

 

If your computer acts up on ya again with the same symptoms -- and ya know that your PC was fine before the graphics card n DVD-ROM were changed, then it's gotta be the power supply, just like IvaikaRazI have said.

 

If this happened all along, even before the graphics card and DVD-ROM, then it might be the hard drive being corrupt.

actually i oso got suspect is psu becoz this is a oem acer com comes with i tink 300w but ever since change dvd player and graphics card alot problenm starts from here

sometime the dvd rom dun even have power supply to it at all
