CPU cannot switch on

hey guys,

my DELL cpu cannot on lehh

tried chging the socket, even exchg the cable from monitor to cpu oso same same..

jus press the on button, no power..

 

called DELL, they say sum power supply or smtg

my warranty fin so kena 300+ upfrnt summore

u guys knw any gd shops in Sim Lim to recommend can tackle the prob..

 

hopin to source out cheaper alternatives

simlim sq shop around the back, i think shop name 'weng' something.

u can find cheap AT power unit 400~450w @ S$25~40.

If wanna get 2nd hand PSU to pinpoint what is wrong, can oso find online. Bought my 2nd-hand PSU for $20, 400W.

yea...if its not real power ard 380w then ard 25-40 can get...good idea to get one to try it out...if u r not a hardcore gamer...u probably wont need such a good power supply..cheers

there is a "FUSE" inside the power supply (the one like a small box)

 

u can try change it and see whether it works ...

 

cos it happen to me, though the PC spoilt , but after changed the fuse the back to normal ..

 

may not be 100% sure that the problem come from the fuse , but can give it a try ...

Bro. Got check your wires lose? If not, try to "jump" your PC to life. If cannot, most likely change your PSU. Still cannot? Mobo is dead.

NEVER repair your PC or electronic stuffs in Sim Lim. One of my friend worked there, and this is what he says:

 

if u want to reair any thing like pc or printer or psp whatever, don't come here repair. yes, they do repair, but, they'll take out some valuable original parts from ur pc(which is not spoiled ones w/o your knowledge) and replace it with a duplicate version of it. therefore, when someone else wants to reapir their PC there, they take the 'stolen' spare part from your PC and put it into the another PC and charge them. that's how they make money.

Tell you what, you want someone to repair your computer? Maybe you can call redbeacon or me. We should start an SBF Computer Support Team (SBF CST). Haha. What you guys think? Then add more members who are familiar in this field and we can also specialise like "OS Guru", "Hardware Guru" and even "Networking Guru". $$$
