Anyways.... today i got off my lazy butt to change my bulb... so i went to hamilton road to source for bulb.... Long story short.... change headlight bulb is a %@##%@$#!!! #$%#$%@#%@%!!! Bloody long and ^#$%@#%#!! Process. Very difficult to reach the parts and turn the stuff.... it ended with me dropping the bike.... AGAIN... my handlebar was turned full to the right so i can reassemble the headlight and my sidestand folded out from under me... again.... KABOOOOM!!! zzzzzzzzz... I swear i'm going to change that dodgy stand to a phantom one or something.

Anyway just to share with you all how to do it... i go thru the suffering so you guys and gals don't have to!

http://photos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v4464/53/17/874490112/n874490112_7337041_2837075.jpg

To access the bulb, you have to remove 2 things... first the rubber cap and the bulb socket. The rubber cap is... well .... a rubber cap... just pull it out. The tricky part is the socket. It is a 3 legged cap with spring mechanism. I suggest before removing it you take a long hard look at what position is the "correct" position. Perhaps use a marker to mark one point for reference.

To take it out is easy.... just push it in and turn and it should pop out. The bulb will just be sitting in the cradle.... again take a look and take note of the position (the peg should be facing "up" as shown in the diagram).

Now comes the hard part.... slot in the bulb... its not secured to anything so its ment to be loose, just sitting there in the bulb area. Then you must push the goddamn 3 legged socket into its original position....

That bloody thing is so hard to reach. I was kneeling on the floor with my cheek resting on the fuel tank on the right side of the bike with one hand under the cowling and the other over the handlebars....

You would have to find the original positioning of the bulb socket.. apply pressure and screw it in. One interesting "tool" you can use is a small pipe with a "cutaway" to allow u to insert the socket using the pipe... gives you more torque and pushing strength... kanina i push until my hands and fingers tired...

Things to note: If you **** up the positioning... you will jam the bulb in the socket and will need a pair of pliers to pluck it out.... nasty stuff.... but you can "bend" back the bulb leg if it becomes bengkok.

Cocked up bulb socket positioning will also mean there would be no power on either high or low beam or both..... so better see slowly first before screwing in.

Also if your sidestand is as dodgy as mine pls don turn your handlebars full lock to the right... asking for trouble only....

Hi everyone I am new to this forum. Am currently halfway through my class 2B licence in SSDC and am slowly getting ready to buy a bike. I'm new to this whole bike scene but have singled out the CBR as my bike of choice. I have a few questions that I hope you guys can help me answer. Thanks in advance! :)

1) I have noticed that with regards to the CBR, there is a 125R and a 150R. The 125 is apparently from boon siew. Are the differences only in engine capacity and thus power?

2) Other than boon siew that I found online, where else can I buy the bike?

3) How much would it roughly cost brand new? I am considering a second hand as well as it would be my first bike.

4) Other than regular oil change and servicing, the bike is more or less easily to maintain right?

5) What is the average expenditure based on the inclusion of i)road tax ii)insurance iii)parking($17 right?) iv)petrol iiv)servicing

6) Read somewhere that the bike is using carburettor technology, some say they have introduced fuel injection recently. Which is the case?

Thank you for helping me with this and bearing with my noobness =)

1. CBR150 is the "older" version of this make of bike... just like CBF series got 150 then 125.... go figure... dono honda way of doing things. 150 uses carb, 125 more modern... EFI. Correct me if wrong.

2. Almost every other bike diam worth its salt... most bigger places like mah motors, or even defu lane shops have one or two machines.

3. Brand new $5000 Machine... last time i asked anyway.

4. Nothing much to maintain regularly... just the chain and tyres on top of your EO.

5. Road tax dono.... shaun pay one... hehehee :cheeky: Thx shaun!!! Insurance depend on company and age.... NTUC expensive. Period. Petrol 40km/l on RON 92 Octane petrol.. agar la

6. See point #1
