Hey Benguin and Aman,

Saw from your pics that the IU is not mounted on the fuel tank as mine is.

Where do you guys mount it ah? I find having mine on the fuel tank kind of in the way ah. a bit unsightly. (No offence,Kazama..hehehe)

hmm.. actually i changed the position of my IU already. last time(like in the pic), was located on the handle bar, facing 45degrees up.. den it kept blocking my view of the speedometer, like wat ozzarhomb said.. so i went to the bukit panjang bike shop n ask the mechanic to reposition it just below the handle bar. i got the idea frm my fren's KR150. so if u can't imagine how it looks like, u can try look at other KR bikes(i tink SP also mount the same way but im not sure)..

it's on the left side, on top of the ferring, just below the handlebar.. hope tis helps

clutch plates usually can last quite long wan, at least 50k. 50k is a rather conservative estimate. unless u slip ur clutch plates a lot!!

even if the clutch plates are worn out chances are that the bike still can move, u will feel it when gg up slopes, u find that u're slowing down even if the RPM remains the same, means the clutch plates are worn out and slipping already.

not so sure about the air cleaner though, i believe it's the first stage of cleaning the air that goes into the airbox, cuz u can see the the air that enters the airbox has to go through the air cleaner. the air filter is probably the secondary stage of air cleaning before the air enters the carb. that's my thoughts, not confirmed

Oh thanks.

Today I changed EO for the first time. I change to Motul H-Tech 100 fully syn. Can feel much different after that. Gear change is much smoother, engine Idling is more stabil and quiet. These translate to better respond....

Aman47 u always park ur bike at the T8/T9 there de hor? if got chance see ur bike i go take a look how ur IU place at the below of the left handle bar, haha... if looks nicer than putting 45degree on the handle bar then i also go change the IU place... lol

hmm. i realise my clutch drop a few times aft i change my EO. like from 2nd drop to neutral or 3th to 2nd juz aft i change gear. might it be due to the change in EO?

haha... the CBR150 cured me of this fear.

Once it first enters the red zone you can usually ride for about 100km still

:p

Try waiting till it hits the red zone next time then go and pump immediately. Chances are you will only be able to put in about 7L! Which means there is still 3 in your tank. 3 x 40km (riding sensibly) = 120km!

I did noticed, when u start the bike & the fuel meter needle goes left instead of right, then U are on reserve (1 litre). Normally the needle will go right to indicate fuel level. Full tank is 10.22 litre .............

wah how did that happened sia? last time i take out all the back fairing then managed to take our rear light assembly, haha u no need take out fairing also can take out. :cheeky:

check with limbat, he may still have a spare aftermarket set with him which is cheaper than original but of course quality is compromised.

thanks for the advice. i found it to be missing after a ride today. i backtracked my journey but couldnt find the part. actually, i wasnt sure if i had lost it in today's ride, cos might be yesterday and i nv notice. it did became loose a few months ago and i thought i had it fixed. apparently, not. :weep:

i dont have limbat's contact. hopefully, he will see my post soon. is there any bike shop where i can buy the part? i dont mind paying a bit more to settle it fast.

you guys discussing abt the position of the IU? the prev owner of my bike fixed it on the left handle bar. and it's blocking my view of the fuel gauge when i am riding. well, i know it isnt so impt and i could tilt my head to take a look at the gauge but i think a better position is after the handle bar, on top of the fuel tank. not really on the fuel tank but on the plastic section. most cbr150 i have seen did it this way.

$$ for BBQ wil settle on the day itself cuz we have no idea how many ppl will be present. so it might not be $10 bucks, might be higher if we buy more food. :cheeky: :cheeky:

is ur IU mounted flat on the tank or is it protruding 45 degrees upwards?

if i'm not wrong if u mount the IU on the handlebar it'll block ur speedometer a little, when the needle is below 80kph u cannot see de.

Mine is just above the tank. think it's flat..

Block speedo ah...hmmm..doesnt matter much to me actually.

If i were to change the location of the iu, how much would it cost, or cld i do it myself>?

hai miss..

i wish to tell u that i used to put it at the tank area...

BIG MISTAKE!

its hazardous...

why...

i'll tell u why... (duh of course lah) :cheeky:

when it comes to accident.. and someone hits u...

your body will move forward towards the tank..

and your chest area or collarbone area will tend to hit the IU UNIT before u fly off.

it happened to me..

and i got blood clot around that area..

just another 0.5 cm the IU UNIT would have cause a hole in my collarbone area.

so its best if you change your IU UNIT put it at the handle bar area

or somewhere else for safety purposes

Woah...that's bad...

hope ur better now... sold off ur cbr already?

I'm new...so tell me..what did u do after the accident?fell unconscious?

So if it shld happen to me,ill know what steps to take...but hopefully not!
