Hi.. I bought my bike two weeks ago, first hand. Now the mileage 500. How long should I spend running in the engine before I start going faster, ie. 90 km/h.. Now I've been going at most 70 km/h since first day.

Posted

wow.. where is your exact spot? must make it blacklisted.. den we must take more precaution near that area.. take plastic bag wrap lo.. or use a towel and wet wipe your body..

i'll suggest 1k ba, change ur engine oil at 1k then can start to go higher RPM le.

dun really have to be too religious about it though, the first day paiseh got his bike a few years ago he went to try for top speed liao. :cheeky: :cheeky:

use plastic bag to wrap ur pump lor, then u look like Doremon liao. use 1 hand to shower lor.

tt time when i was injured i wrapped both legs with plastc bag too. for my knee, i cut a hole in the plastic bag then wear the plastic bag to my knee then use tape to tape it up to waterproof it. showering was a hassle everyday. :giddy:

bad experience for me and definitely for u too, ride safe next time.

i've finally found what i reckon to be the air filter

its located juz on the right side of the airbox found under the fuel tank

here are some pics of the air box + air filter + difference between a new and old air cleaner element

ya correct, that yellowish-whitish thinggie is the air filter. if u manage to get a new one u can make a comparison, the old one will most probably be very dirty de.

Hello... juz curious... i have not seen any cbr repainted... i wish to have mine repainted... anybody hv any ideas

Hi guys,... any of u repaint ur CBR's? mine is an orangey one.. feel like changing. any shops to recommend, price range? aniwaes, why do i feel its easier to reach the top speed while doing bends than on straight roads? the vibration and whirring sound of the bike is lot lesser than on straight roads.

the shape of the air cleaner looks similar as the one i saw in my airbox

but the website doesnt state wat model of bikes it is for leh?

i can point to u where u can dismantle

but u need some tools and some perseverance + adventurous spirit

hahaz

while taking out the fuel tank from my bike to explore the air filter and cleaner + do up some simple grounding, i dropped my fuel tank onto the floor

now kena dent

:sian:

anyway i bought my stuff from FJT

eh...juz curious...which bend/corner in spore izit that allows u to corner at top speed?

:cheeky:

for respray, u can try checking out the section called bike bytes or smth

got some recommendations there

but good paintwork = more exp

i got mention that i do it in spore meh... not daring enuf to risk my license lor. my question was more of why the engine whirring sound is less noisier and the vibration isnt that whacko if i do it on bends then if i do on straight roads...

thanks for the tip aniwae..

haha

of course heart pain

but bo bian...who ask me never secure the tank properly

haiz

FJT is located at Desker Road

i tink the unit number is 11 or smth

forgot le

but u can park there and walk down the row of shops

sure can see the shopname~

:cheeky:

anyway dont tink i will do anything abt the dent on my tank

will probably cost me a bomb to fix it + respray

:giddy:

but it seems weird to me that it's actually possible to insert a hammer into the fuel tank and knock it back into proper shape? hehe...

maybe a more viable option will be to slap some putty or fibre onto the dent parts and sand them down to the desired shape before respray

did u guys read the thread about the "CBR150R or NSR150SP" thread in sportbikes column.

i read le a bit sian, all the SP riders go in there to ask that newbie guy to buy SP because they themselves ride it. very biased remarks.

SP is a good bike no doubt, but CBR150R cannot be compared to SP mah, built for different purposes all together. :bouncefire: :bouncefire:

honestly CBR150 didnt cross my mind when i was looking out for my 1st bike back then

in fact it was NSR150SP which motivated me to go for riding lessons

kept calling the bike 'Repsol' when i saw it on the road in the JC days

hahaha

oh well, i guess preferences for bikes do change overtime

now to me, fuel consumption, fuel tank size & ability to corner are the important factors

yes, same here. i didn't like the CBR150R at all when i took my TP and yes, my first bike is a NSR150SP. i liked both bikes. CBR150R is a bike that grows on the rider. SP is a bike that gave me loads of fun(powerful) and pain(accident-prone to the newbie rider)

that's why i said those kids there were giving very biased remarks, since Honda didn't build the CBR150R to take over the SP. 2 different bikes build for different purposes mah.

anyway, dunno why the thread kena locked liao. upz for the moderator :thumb:
