I'll like to know if prolong dragging gear will shorten the life of ur gear plate in long run. (using hi gear 4 low speed)

How about overhulling. (low gear 4 hi speed)

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?

would like to know this also.

Always ride safely and defensively.

Repair bike cheap and fast,

Repair body expensive and slow.

i would tink nothing bad will happen to the gear plates...just the engine will be at an unnecessarily hi rpm for the limited speed at lower gears. Jus change EO more often can already...maybe every 1000km????

DO. Or DO NOT. There is no TRY.

How long is considered enough to whack once? once every week / month?

this applies more to 2-strole bikes right? i rode my 4-stroke supermagna for 7 years, rpm never go more than 6000 (meter goes up to 12000), no problems leh.:cheeky:

6k only, then u nv ride past 80kmh, even on expressways?

i also heard fr mechanic that clear carbon only needed on 2t, 4t no need.

4000rpm at 6th gear on my supermagna already hit 55mph (88kmh)...that's my normal riding speed on expressway. Only rarely when the conditions are right ( no pillion, no cameras, very light traffic ) i will go up to 6000rpm ( 75mph or 120kmh ) and only for a short distance. Only once did i rev it up to 8000rpm ( when i first got the bike ) almost reach 160kmh...still can rev somemore but i scared lah:cheeky:

bigger cc bikes got more power, so can afford more speed even at relatively low rpm. i guess thats why the engines on bigger bikes can usually last longer, cos unless the rider always drag gear, there's no need to "stress" the engine at all.

i usually drag gears, low rpm, so sometime my bike go pom pom pom... guess it's my habit, so i wonder if it'll spoilt anything?
