Max power dont really develop at red line. But it doesnt mean the engine cannot rev beyond max power just that power is falling at that point. Like max torque only at 9000rpm or so for S4.

After which torque are falling then toward max power after which there no much point reving past unless u wanna heard the sound of high rpm cos power and torque are falling sharply.

ANd red line is danger. Like S4 can rev till 13k rpm but doesnt mean max power have to develop there.

tats on theory... im not sure if u go down track or play wif frens often... i dun noe how to explain but i felt theres slightly more power after 11k rpm...

u c, my fren's rvf had de-restricted his bike thus can go further into redline... for those who noe abt rvf's meter, its until 190km/h. His can go until beyond the honda logo & its estimated around 230km/h (its tested & proven many times). To do tat, everytime he need to drag into redline b4 6th gear then can if not the meter is unable to reach tat honda logo.

Redline is definitely DANGER :goodluck:

After max power the bike is still pulling but not as hard.

The bike pulls harder when reving towards max power.

U must look at the power curve to determind the best rpm on changing gear. That y sport bikes have shift light to tell them when they should shift.

i agree on what u say...

but to achieve top speed that's beyond 190 KM/Hr,

u will see that RPM is more than 11K rpm.

I tried 180km/h is really unstable. I cannot understand why people so corcern about top spd that really unstable and u dont get to use it.

I am more intereted in modification of low and mid range torque which we get to use it everyday when pick up or overtaking.

Anyone have any feedback on modifaication on that?

think most mods improve performance from mid range to hi end...

correct me if i'm wrong.

a solution is still to change bike...

class 2 bikes normally can pickup and overtake better than 2A bikes. :faint:

so did he actually say wats his top speed ??

I'm not sure whether they are waiting for him or he can keep on par. He told me his Max Speed is 195KM/Hr like that.

When there's a will.... There's always a way. But then again most u could do to a S4 is just to big bore it and get it up to 450cc.. THIS IS ILLEGAL by the way. Sucks up your petrol like nobody's business which ultimately defeats the purpose why some bikers bought a S4. Which is for cheap maintainence and fuel economy. Want sumthing more? Get rid of the stock air boxes and plug in aftermarket individual power filters to the carbs. MORE FUEL + MORE AIR = BIG BANG!! = MORE $$$$. Still want more speed? Change to a smaller size sprockets. Change the clutch springs to racing one's and u have better power transfer. Make the bike more aerodynamic and u can cut thru wind better and rid of wind drag. Ya yaaa by now people would still say upgrade to bigger cc bike is better. True in one way but then yearly maintainence is more. Include Insurace, rd tax. The insurace itself is a BOMB. Still to each his own. Good luck and have fun tweaking your bikes.

180km/h unstable ?? maybe the road u trying not flat enough ?? its how u think abt going high speed, its never stable on any bike, a small stone can send u flying... But if u r experienced enough, i believe going at 180km/h is like crusing compared to 280km/h... One thing tat might cause ur bike to be unstable might be the aerodynamic of s4, if can put fairing then might be a different case.

of course in sg cannot any try 180km/h but if its up north ?? some ppl just wan to hav the best in their bike, not necessary always travel at top speed...

the ideal mod will be change exhaust  tis will greatly affect ur performance be it low/mid or top... next will be sprocket but u will need to compromise on either low or top end...

yes... aerodynamic is indeed a v important factor when coming to high speed & s4 does not hav any... anyway s4 engine is more towards a touring bike than a sport bike so if intending to challenge sport bikes... better think twice :goodluck: if realli wan to go to tat extend, change to cbr L-model engine

My friend told me Super 4 from V-Tec 1 onwards had power-cut. So it means that I only can travel 180KM/hr to the max?

Then he told me the power cut can do away with it. He say must buy Power-boaster or something like that.

1) Where to find this power boaster? How much is that?

2) Will it fail inspection?

3) What is the max speed if there is no power-cut?

most stock vtec can go 190km/h

actually got use meh ? if im not wrong max torque is 12.5k RPM ...max RPM is 13k ....that 0.5k means alot to you ? unless ur'e into racing than ok lor ..

learn to shift juz at the max torque juz before the power cut comes in ...no need external stuff to aid you...

fix it on n u will know e diff.

i have it on, can see e diff definitely.

to b more exact, super 4 version s onwards all gt powercut. Tt include version s. To feel the powercut, hold on top speed at 180km/h, tk a look at yr rpm. It stops but still gt alot left. Hold on awhile longer, u wil feel yr bike "jump" forward, look at the speedo, speed wil drop by 5km/h lk tt. That is the powercut le.

Many ppt r nt sure cos they didnt realli tk note when going at so high speed. Super 4 horsepower is oso cut down to 40hp, orginal it is 53hp.

Mine powercut is removed by rewiring the CDI, after powercut i hit clear meter, 190km/h, dunnoe wat speed liao, rpm still going 13200rpm. Managed to tag behind a RVF wif racing CDI, no powercut.

Going for more mod soon. Unleash the 400cc true power

s4 gear 5 powercut exact at 190km/h. meaning gear 5 can clear meter liao. gear 6 will give u a bit more beyond 190.

a well tuned and setup S4 (and im not just talking about setting up the power department! Handling, brakes and suspension is more important than power!), you will be surprised how fast and how long of a distance it can maintain at high speed.

agreed. super 4 is stable at high speeds...i went out wit ppl who can maintain 190km/h for quite long constantly...its proven.
