since we are on the pipe topic... wanna to ask u guys... A shop offer xxxx brand at $YYYY for a Slip on only... But B shop office same xxxx brand at 20% more $YYYY for a slip on + mid pipe.

 

Can i know what is the different with and without a midpipe, both shops provide same brand for the same bike model & yr.

 

I know i ask this qus alot alot of time already, but does it really needed to install PC 3 or 5 to go with the slip on...

without mid-pipe u cannot install the end can. so beware shop A etc. once u place a deposit ur personal particulars will be so called tag to the end can. and most like cannot refund. then chut stunt say u need mid pipe and have to pay more. then gg liao.

you need to mention the brands- almost all CBR600 slip-ons include the pipe to connect to the exit of the catalytic converter.

 

The 'mid pipe' would usually mean a straight pipe to eliminate the catalytic converter and is not included in the slip-on price. If you eliminate the cat you would want to get a power commander.

yap mid pipe something like r1 that removes the catalytic.

ours cant cos its welded onto our headers.

now i guess snowman is refering to 'link pipe' not 'mid pipe'

Just wanna tell u guys to ride safe... Tis mornin on my way to work, i involve in a minor accident. I was squeezin in between cars when suddenly a boy dash out. I try to brake and siam. But didn't manage to siam fully. My front left hand corner hit the bugger and i went wobbling another few meters. Luckily i did not fall or hit any cars. ( thank god for that or else sure kana claim)

 

When i manage to control my bike and stop. ( yeah i stop in the middle of lanes) Coz i was worried for the boy. To my astonishment, he already got up and already cross to the other side of the road. There were a few cars who wind down their windows and inform me that the boy was ok and had left and ask me if i'm okie. I was still recovering from the mild shock.

 

My left front part fairing had opened up, my left signal light now slanted. Gonna get it done later. Hopefully i can. I sprained my left hand pinky and just went to to a TCM. Now in bandage.

ah duck & colacin - ok meaning that for eg... akra slip on if you ask from work preformance the price they given to u is slip on price which mid pipe / link pipe (i cant really remember which is the correct pipe) is not included. when i enquire from the 2nd bike shop abt akra and same model it give me the whole price which the whatever pipe. I will check out what pipe and let u guys know.

 

So it will be more adviceable to just get from the shop with all include right.

I dun blame the boy lah, his experience on road is only walking experience. I hope tis will walk him up a little bit and always remember to check whenever crossing from in between cars. Luckily i wasnt going fast. If not he confirm internal injury aso. I just thank god that i am fine and didn't hit any cars while wobbling.

From agent, it always cost more...

 

Last time when i was getting a Akra titanium slip on for my k4 600, i call up works performance and after giving me the price, they ask me to go to the then Unity cos cheaper..

 

But then up i ask my shop to call and buy, $950 only..

 

Agent: $1450

Unity: $1400

of cause i know agent is more ex then bike shop but i just dont understand the link pipe thingy...

snow_man- if you're unsure about what is included in the akra kit - check their website - they have very detailed drawings of the systems and downloadable PDFs.

 

I'm surprised you would get a quote for a silencer WITHOUT the link pipe to the cat converter. You might check if one system has a steel link pipe and the other has a titanium one- that would cause a difference in price.

do take note that take eg for akra. there is a choice of material for the link pipe. stainless steel or titanium.
