Hey guys,

Am at Hua Hin now.. Weather is good but the place is much smaller than expected.. Pretty run down and shabby.. Beach side is not as pretty as Phuket.. Bars looked sleazy and tacky..

Next destination is Korat, hopefully more adventure awaits..

Advrider,

Remember you told me that you got stopped at Bangkok expressway by the police? Guess what? I just joined the club.. I know that certain expressways are not for bikes but the signboards indicating that is just appalling.. I don't see the signs until it's too late.. Wasted stupid money to treat the local police officers for coffee..

For those cutting through Bangkok on their roadtrips, I'd suggest you be extra cautious.. Bangkok traffic is horrendous, cops are everywhere and the pace is slow.. I cooked my thigh in the jam.. Road conditions are bad too.. Pot holes, uneven roads and some are just not maintained.. For me, I'll never ride through Bangkok again..

Next stop.. Khon Kean.. Woo hoo..

Oh yes, I ran into a bunch of Singapore bikers at Hua Hin yesterday.. They are heading to Tak.. Anyone knows who is riding a FJR with a number plate of FZ9T?

So far, I've passed on clubbing.. I usually start my journey early in the morning at around 7am thus better not drink the night before.. :p

You're absolutely right.. No point passing Bangkok, it's a waste of time.. The ride from Khon Kean to Sukhothai is beautiful.. I passed by the first national park called Nam Nao and the ride is just out of the world.. It was 9 plus in the morning riding through fresh tarmac surrounded by trees.. The road is twisty thus I get a warm up lap before Mae Hong Son.. :p For those passing by Khon Kaen, this route is highly recommended!!!

I stayed only a night at Khon Kean.. It's too city like for my liking and the dinosaur park is 200km away.. Got up early and headed to Sukhothai, where I am right now.. Got a walk around the old city.. Wonderful..

Tomorrow will be heading to Nan.. I think I might change my stop at Mae Salong to Chiang Saen.. From Chiang Saen, it's easier to access Mae Sai as well as the Golden Triangle.. Furthermore, my Garmin Nuvi doesn't have Mae Salong.. It only shows Nam Mae Salong which doesn't show any of the hotels in your guidebook.. :(

Up up and away..

Hey guys,

Instead of heading to Nan, I left for Chiang Rai instead.. Chose this as my base as it's closer to get to Mae Sai and the Golden Triangle.. Headed to the Golden Triangle first, took some photos and headed to the Opium Museum.. Weather in the morning was cool.. Excellent for riding.. The I went to Mae Sai, the 2nd friendship bridge and Doi Thung.. So far so good..

Guess what I saw at the hotel carpark in the evening yesterday? I saw those Singapore bikes which I met in Hua Hin.. They're staying in the same hotel as I am in Chiang Rai.. Finally got to meet the group last night.. We will most likely be riding together to Chiang Mai and the rest of the trip as my itinerary matches theirs.. The world is small but who knows it's this small?

Chiang Mai here I come..

Just in case no one noticed, my ZZR1400 is up for SALE

http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=225044

If bike can't be sold, I'll part out all accessories/addons, push bike back to bikeshop.

Hmm, the ZZR14 is in demand! how can not be sold... ?? Sure can be sold one lah, only at what price?? Cos even if the price lower than what you'd hoped still must be higher than pushing in to any shops ???

hahahaa, wanna change with a 12R ?? :thumb:

For fast touring no cons at all, only pros. Fantastic bike...

However, you are going to have to wait for a very long time to get one, you will not be able to get it in May as Kawasaki has stopped production of GTR until this coming July, due to world slowing demand.

No GTR into Singapore until September, at best.

Got a very bad news for you....... GTR will not be available in the Singapore market for a least another 6-10 months. Even over in Malaysia there's a long waiting list.

There are loads of accessories out there in the web. Most stuffs can be ordered overseas as Singapore's market is small.

Also depends on what you want? Performance? The GTR has the same engine as the ZZR and can be mod to the same level. Else if you are looking for accessories look back a few pages I had listed some of the bling bling that can be mounted on the bike.
