Hi guys, I'm now officially a ZZR14 rider. Was contemplating between a Busa & a 14 for a couple of months. But I think I've made the right choice.

Its astonishingly nimble to ride, honestly it doesnt feel like having a 1400cc engine under me until a blip on the throttle wakes up the monster within.

Simply silky smooth machine to ride.

haha... welcome to the group of rare powerful monster rider!!!!

hope to see ya soon...

hi guys, when u got yr gtr, are there any special break in methods or things to take note of?

Hmmm....for me, i followed the manual. Did the first run in in Singapore. At the rpm of 3 at the last gear, i am able to ride comfortably at 90-100lm/h on road. No need to go lane 3.

2nd and 3rd run in, able to go slightly faster already. Sooo....hit HS highway more often to complete all the run in ah.

But i followed strictly to run the bike at the certain RPM. Occasionally i will push the bike 1 RPM more than one stated in the manual.

You bought GTR already ah?

yes I have, finally. :)

1st, 2nd, 3rd run in?

sorry, I have not seen the manual, but are these in intervals of 500km?

proper manufacturer's running in process is abit difficult to do, going up & down the stated rpm thru as many gears as possible. how to do that unless its a traffic light n traffic less environment.

wa,,,what color? sorry sorry i meant 1, 2 and 3 servicing. After each servicing, you can do a higher rpm run in ah. heehhehehehehe.

Come and join us next friday ba. Like that your run in finished faster. Don worry about maintaining speed with the group. I ride with you. We go slow together ah. ^_^

Heheheh....At lower gear, drag the gear at that rpm abit ba. I realised Concours go very smoothly on low gear too. Its VVT technology is awesome.

grey it is!~

2010 GTR updates

http://www.fasterandfaster.net/2009/10/2010-kawasaki-1400gtr-gets-traction.html

Kawasaki have updated their hyper-tourer – the 1400GTR – for 2010, with the bike getting KTRC, Kawasaki’s first-ever traction control system. There’s also the K-ACT II anti-lock braking system, a larger windscreen, mildly redesigned bodywork (for improved engine heat management), heated grips, a relocated glove box, slightly firmer suspension and new Bridgestone tyres for improved grip and handling.

The 2010 1400GTR has one more trick up its onboard computer - an 'Eco' mode, which alters power delivery in a way that allows the engine to cut fuel consumption by as much as 25%.

When running in, keep the engine speed (not road speed) within recommended RPMs.

Best is to vary the RPM, not just cruise and stick to 3000rpms for 1000kms. Thats like running on a threadmill with zero resistance; You don't get much exercise.

Yes, I saw that even a slightly different look with the fairing being a bit more protective, however i am dissapointed with the addition features except for the traction control, all the rest are far better with after market farkles. And who needs heated grip in Asia.

They basically added up features that we all added ourselves but with far more choices available and more control such as PCV or Bazzazz for fuel economy maps. Kawa is in trouble financially ( no more engine next year in Moto GP) so all these minor tweeks will make us believe that they had developed something for the 2010 but except for the KTRC we have it already on the bike.

Next question is pricing, it is priced 15% higher than the 2009 in the US of A, let's see how much our dear Evershine hammers us with...

Down to personal, I am far more happy with the 2008 and 2009 models as you can chose all the modifications you can do.

If its your bike still running in before first engine oil change, at rpm 3 last gear, you can go 120km/h. good enough. no worry ah. I go with your speed. You go 90. i go 90. You go 150, i also go 150.

But 120km/h is a very nice speed to ride in NS High night. ^_^

Yesh, its next fri

if the traction control is solely controlled by the ecu(retarding ignition based on engine rpm, speed, gear n lean angle), an update maybe be possible for previous yr models?

other than yr wireless tyre pressure gauge issue which was resolved by looi.

no other issues since right?

i was informed of 2 different warranty durations by each agent.

one said 3mths warranty the other said 6mths or 10,000k.

no prizes for guessing who gave what.

That one enough to burn a hole in my wallet le. The problem happened during my warranty period too. It was at 3000 only. HE SAID BIKE NOT BOUGHT FROM THEM HENCE NO WARRANTY. CRAP

Now the wind shield cannot move up and down liao. Other Gtrs also had this problem. For myself, it works occasionally yet rarely. After which it will die on me after the bike went through a day of rain. Frenchbiker one die permanently.

Finally they woke up! I think they removed the glove box and shifted it to the left side. Good! Below the box, its the fuel economy thingy.

The exhaust look different now. But still heavy....ahahahahah

If they put the glove box on the left ide, but why only one side, they could have put another one the right side as well...
