I have a Classic 1998 Suzuki Impulse for sale! It's a long post-

 

Hi all, I've always known I've had to sell this before leaving for studies in Germany. Bought this late last year and restored it to its current Wes Cooley Replica state.

 

The Impulse was Suzuki's answer to the Super 4, and was known to outrun and outlast the PB1 and Version S models. Only when Vtec opens for the spec 1,2 and 3 models, can a super 4 outrun the Impulse. In the 2a market, I'd dare say it can only be beaten by the Ducati Monster 400. Maybe it's just cos I'm an aggressive biker. Feel free to argue this point

 

Both myself and the previous owner have spent time and money to restore this bike to its original glorious state.

 

•Internals- tip top!

•Externals- tip top!

•COE 2018 (renewable of course)

•Mileage- 105,000km

•Consumption- 26km to 27km per Litre- Unbelievable but true

•4-1 stainless steel exhaust + headers

 

Interesting Things to note-

 

1. The Impulse was designed both engine wise and aesthetics wise, after Wes Cooley's record breaking GS1000 of the late 70s.

 

2. There are currently only 5 or 6 left on our roads, so yes, it is a rare solid bike to own.

 

3. I am the 4th owner of this Impulse and am in contact with the previous 3 owners who all have fond stories of this bike.

 

4. Comes with the original cool license plate number of FQ868C.

 

5. I did buy the original rear pillion grab rail which is solid chrome, but never put it on cos I like the clean look. If you have someone you pillion regularly, it would be hugely beneficial.

 

6. This is the European model and is reflected by its speedo of up to 220km/hr. Previous owners have cleared the meter but I've never felt the need to go so fast. I cruise at 120km/hr easy at an RPM of 6000.

 

7. Parts are easily available at Suzuki's distributor- Guan Hoe. Yes, you might have to wait a week for parts to arrive from Japan, but at least you can rest assured it's not some chiong local parts being passed off as original. KS Motors opposite Regina also has parts for the Impulse. But to be frank, you won't need any major parts for a long long time and Ah Chong at Planet Motorcycles has anything you might need for the routine 5000km servicings.

 

8. Recently clocked 100,000km in the start of the year and did the full servicing, have clocked another 5000km since then cos it's such an enjoyable ride.

 

Do come and view, I'll also welcome questions. This bike is a real dream to ride. I haven't posted this up on all the sites yet as I'm stuck in camp and will do so once I book out. I have yet to put a price tag on it yet and welcome offers. Please keep in mind that I have been offered 5 digits before and turned it down as it was just at the wrong time, and am more concerned about selling it to the right person. Those who want to chop it/ cafe it/ tracker it, please buy another bike. It would break my heart to see this bike chopped up.
