So far got through to my 2nd practical without too much issues. However, my biggest issues are still my shoes.

So far been wearing loafers to practical lessons. However, while I like the fact that I can actually feel the gear shift and engine through my shoes, I am not looking forward to my loafers wearing out in double time. I kinda like that pair.

So just wondering if anyone could recommend a good pair of riding boots that I can wear for my practicals as well as when I get my 2B. Thin soles (to feel the engine) and thin material top so I can feel the gear change as well.

Thanks!

Riding boots and riding shoes tend to be sturdy serve their purpose of providing protection in the event of a fall/an accident. Looking for thin soles and thin top material, I don't think they will be available. However there are many boots/shoes you can choose from, some brands are Alpinestars, Gaerne. There are a lot more choices out there if you do your research. I think go for the more touring style type or riding shoes for your lessons, rather than the racing boots. Waterproof and better grip in water should help where doing e-brake.

You can search online at stores that carry more brands, normally overseas sites such as revzilla.com. Then when you decided which one to get, then find them in Singapore.

those type of boots will be much better than sneakers n casual shoes. actually proper riding boots, though thick at the sole and top, once u get used to it, it actually makes riding much better. most noticeable for me is stopping and putting my left foot down feels more stable with good grip. and the odd falls are much easier on the feet (touch wood!). i had my fair share. LOL

A ride a day, keeps the doctor away!

I see.

Cos I am wearing just loafers on my practical lessons now. Whilst it helps me to feel the engine properly (my throttle control's still a little wonky. Accelerating with the feet and accelerating with the hand just feels different), the CB125 engines does feel a little warm on my ankles (my right sprained ankle's just about recovering) and when practicing stopping, there are a few times I'd almost sprained my left ankle when my right feet couldn't depress the rear brake hard enough and I had to use front brake and placed my foot down too early and led to wobbling and slight dragging of my left feet.

I got no intention of spraining my leg if I *kaboosh* on the circuit.

Probably will get those zip boots from Beach Road for my practicals.

I loved my street soccer shoes for this... the soles are thin enough and the top is thick enough.

if you have one use try it. Else any court shoe for that matter. It helps in making sure the gear change is done properly. cause the sole is harder :)
