Can get the lowering kit. Itll be lowered to the same HT. as the naked one. If not as per PenangKia suggestion, cut the seat which will be the cheaper alternative. I believe this is one of the low HT. seat bike in the market.

 

How much is the lowering kit? If it can be lowered as low as the naked MT-09, that sounds fantastic. But only at that height? Or it can adjust the height to your preference? Many thanks in advance!

Update on the free side pannier.

 

Picked up the side pannier from HL today. It one big box containing the 2 panniers and a bubble wrap package for the mounting hardware and bracket. After seeing the amount of stuff inside, they are not wrong to say it is "complicated", especially for those inexperience.

 

Anyway there is a detail instruction manual with picture showing you how to install. With this, the installation should be quite straight forward. Just need to have the right tools. If you have torque wrench and loctite will be better.

 

Anyway the pannier came with a waterproof bag inside. Those kind where you need to fold a couple of time before you buckle it up. And apparently this pannier is made by SW Motech which is quite obvious with the SW Motech logo on the brackets and lock. So overall quality is quite good. You can lock the pannier to the rack and number lock is provided to lock the zip.

 

So there you have it.

I quite like the pannier except it is not as secure as a normal hard pannier. Oh ya, the instruction manual says max speed limit 130kph only

Hi Guys, I am interested in the tracer. Any kind owner would share their experience on this bike? How's the FC, engine heat, exhaust heat? Are the stock Yamaha Pannier that comes with it any good?

My ride feedback.

 

1) Ride posture is upright but the seat can be uncomfortable after around 15 mins ride. I find the front portion too narrow or maybe I got big butt.

2) The power delivery is choppy. Not smooth. Had to play around with clutch to smooth the power delivery. This is more obvious when you switch to A mode.

3) Obvious flat spot around 4k rpm to 5k rpm. Obvious fine vibration can be felt on the grip during this range. I installed grip puppy to counter it.

4) Suspension is soft for the rear especially when fetching pillion. I need to increase the rear preload.

5) Heat is manageable as I rode hotter bikes prior to this. Can't be worst than sport bikes.

6) FC aint sure as I never keep track as it definitely better than my previous rides. I assume average 18 to 20km/l?

7) Side pannier is ok but I cannot fit my helmet inside. Zipper only which uses supplied number pad lock to lock it. Pannier can be locked to the bike. Overall okay but not the best.

Just another update on the pannier or rather an warning.

 

During the installation, there are 4 big metal collar or black looking pin. These 4 collar are to slot in between the side plastic pieces from the bike and the rack upper arm. Please remember to use this. Failure to use this will cause damage to the rack upper arm. I broke mine but lucky it not a crucial point so I manage to repair it. I totally missed this step inside the manual.......

 

The rack cost $400+ to buy from HL. The parts are not sold separately. So if not sure, please have it installed by HL.

Anyone felt the bike like powerless between 5k to 6k rpm? Initially I thought 4k to 5k rpm is bad. 5k to 6k is worst than I thought. Anyone changed air filter or exhaust and solved it?

one question, point 2) power delivery is choppy but when maintaining throttle, is it lumpy? i'm riding a V4 and it's very lumpy for speed below 40kmh, total pain in the ass especially in sg's traffic

Lumpy as in jerking? If you use mode A then maybe but STD mode so far still manageable. I think the more you ride, the more you will get used to it as I did. But I'm starting to feel this bike is getting underpower......

How about flashing the bike ECU? There are feedbacks it helps to smoothen out the ride and remove the rev limit. There is a tracer watsapp group if you r interested in joining us, u can PM me your number.
