respraying of ERP IU unit

the current IU unit on my bike was brought over by the previous owner frm an old bike, so the original gray color is abit yellowish now. thought of respraying it but i recalled my friend's experience.

 

he stuck a large piece of sticker over the IU & as a result the ERP gantry couldnt detect his IU at all. thus, im wondering if respraying will cause the same result.

 

anyone done this before?

yr friend IU must bes faulty! nothing to do with the sticker. I spray paint mine black and wrap it with carbon fire sticker. Every morning pass thru gantry and still they take my money Some riders even put it under their seat also no problem.

mine under leather cover also kena eaten money.. haha..

 

go Vicom to check your IU unit.. if within warranty period, can change for free.. if after 5 yrs already, must pay abt $150++ loh!!!

wah. a new IU isnt exactly considered a good option for me leh

 

anyway, most probably will get a leather pouch for the IU instead. my only worry is that the modified cover of my IU (comes with a protruded cashcard reminder) wont be able to fit into the pouch nicely.

Heard any paint job done & permanent stickers in IU is not covered by the warranty when spoiled during warranty period. Best to leave it in original color. So anything go back & can get free replacement;)
