by introducing additional airflow to carb which is require in correct mixture of Air n Fuel ratio..by proper setting up overall performace will be increase..orginal airbox design of the 2stroke runner is not good enuff to match upon reaching a certain level of tune for the scoot

Water will only affect the open pod in minimum ways like u pour water directly on it.

The REAL disadvantage is easily affect by climate changes like hot n cold days, density of air, turbulence if not fitted properly n require more regualr cleaning n maintaining

Back to the idea of an open pod is to hav an increase airflow to hav better performace at the end of the day when the level of tune requires it..nothing to do with water.

From the questions u hav asked n the trend these days, open pod filters on runners had became a thing of style n bling wif add noise pollution

But my open pod is wierd...

1 day when e floor is wet and drizziling ,

my bike couldnt ride...lol...

than park there, at night when rain stop than i go collect ..

Can start and ride...lol....Tai hin Jackye say maybe carb got water...

don understand how come like this...am i afraid of rain now...

When u change to open pod. is the carb stock? did you change any of the jets in the carb. even if you change carb. did you also change the jets?

when satgi say carb got water . can have many factor.

not alway water can only go in by open port.

it could mean ur petrol might be contaminated with water too.

when u change to a open port . have u ever did a spark plug check to see if the jets match the setting ?

was the mixture too rich in the first place.

was ur air filter clean , is the filter oiled constainly ?

how did ur scoot died when ur ride in the rain ?

did it feels like ur scoot is running with ur choke on ?

for ur info. the amount of air going through the air filter will effect the jet constanly.

if the filter is dirty or wet ( as in during rain ) or too much filter oil. ur mixture will be richer.

i have used open filter in the worst rain condition ( 1 shot kill 2 of my hand phone ) and yet my scoot did not die on me.

so there should be no reason why ur scoot should give u problem due to rain.
